Location was fine the place should be condemned. No hot water no a/c old mattresses rotted wood no TV building code violations, two numerous to mention not worth the money do not stay there

I love the Wild Ginger Inn, I grew up here on the Big Island so the plantation style rooms feel just like home for me. Might not be everyone's cup of tea but if your looking for a room, place to shower, and clean comfortable bed for an affordable price it does the job.

Very friendly owner and staff. Very personal. The hotel has a lot of charm even though it is older. It also has newly renovated rooms. You feel like you are right in the jungle, even though it is only a 5-minute walk to the city center. If you like history, this hotel is perfect.

There are enough parking spot for the hotel which is one of the good things, but the area around the hotel doesn’t look safe at all. The room conditions are not the same as shown in photos. In addition, there are windows but no curtains for them. If you really love nature, you can probably take this since the crickets were singing all night and they were really loud.

Very convenient spot to swim the turtles by driving for a few minutes towards the airport, a great breakfast with fruits and homemade cakes, overall a very good deal if you enjoy staying in a vintage building with a bit reduced comfort

I got the superior suite because I wanted a balcony, king bed and my own bathroom. I can say it was not disappointing. The time I was in the room, it was peaceful and quiet. It may not be a fancy hotel but for me I do like small, quiet, peaceful, unbothered vibes. Also, I had a late check in...on a tsunami threat day, so office was closed but I didn't check my messages till later because of all the chaos, Makana, the manager, assured me that they left my key for me in the lock box. Yay! I sure did love my stay.

Front desk staff were polite and helpful. Asked for extra blankets and the staff member was cordial and accommodating. The Wild Ginger Inn is a gem and is a pleasant stay. We have stayed here many times. We really like it.

It is very cute and old fashioned, with alot of Hawaiiana flavor but missing some important upgrades. Hot water is a problem, there's no tv and no air conditioning, although the fans were adequate. Staff is lovely and personable.
