"We travel a lot and this is the first time we felt sorry for the hotel (not the staff).. Hotel is very nicely designed, many great ideas to make your stay interesting and comfortable and the building is in a good condition, but the entrance, kitchen, elevator and all around the reception was very dirty. Like nobody cleaned it for days. Breakfast was poor, nobody there to help, tables not cleaned.. You mention it.. Hotel staff, including the receptionist just walk around you, not seeing that dirt and the mess. We just could not believe.. Luckily, the room was decent and clean. Also, there is not a one single square foot of grass around to walk your dog. The parking needs a good cleaning and removal the pieces of garbage people left behind. If the management and the stuff took proper care of the hotel it would easily deserve at least 4 stars. "

"Very pet friendly (including cats). Excellent value if you don’t need a lot of frills. (There is a refrigerator and microwave in the room.) Friendly staff. Charming rustic hotel in beautiful setting on lake. Easy drive to good restaurant/bar. We stop here every year on our way home but would definitely enjoy a longer stay. It’s probably even more beautiful in the summer with leaves on the trees."

"Called 2 hrs past cancellation cut off due to car troubles. Even with Expedia calling they refused to credit me. After a 12 hr drive we made it to the hotel. Every inch of this place was disgusting. From the building, lobby, grounds and room. The front desk person was unsympathetic and again refused to give me my money back. Again Expedia called to solve the issue without success. DONOT STAY here. Disgusting on all levels"

"I felt that this hotel did not meet up with what a Marriott Hotel’s standards should be. Upon arrival a woman was yelling profanities at the entrance to the hotel. The pool was too cold and surroundings unkept. The tub drain was broken and left on the side of the tub. There were no bags in our garbage can. During the night I was awakened by a loud noise and when I looked out in the hallway, one of the coverings of a ceiling light fixture had fallen down. Amenities were poor. No complementary coffee/tea. In the morning there were also police cars and officers responding to an altercation in the hotel. I did not feel safe at this establishment. I don’t like to give bad reviews but this was not a good experience."
