Hexham was a relaxing and interesting place to stay. Hexham Abbey had a terrific depiction of how cathedrals are built, including a hand-on model demonstrating how stones were lifted into place. The docentvery friendly and The Market was small, but

Hexham Abbey’s Refectory Cafe is delightful.
Hexham is a great place to stay if you're interested in visiting Hadrian's Wall, and with the AD122 bus there's no need to drive! The town itself is cute and has several attractions to visit, especially the Abbey, and lots of good places to eat.
Beautiful village with great paths to walkabout.
