We had a lovely stay at The Marine. The staff was extremely kind and helpful and the room and lounge were beautifully decorated. Also, it is conveniently located on the cliff path and near the shop, which was perfect. We highly recommend!

Lovely location. Service was excelllent. Sharon in the bar area was fab ! Hotel was comfortable and spotless. A little more traditional in parts but think it’s being updated soon.

Beautiful hotel and grounds - larger than average rooms with very comfortable beds and great views of the ocean. 5 minutes walk to town centre for all restaurants however hotel food was very good too. Pool area and spa wonderful too !

Cape Town escape

A beautiful hotel with all the old world charm and modern amenities. They provided a beautiful cot for our baby with the cutest bedding we’ve seen. We also loved the heated outdoor saltwater pool a rarity in the cape. Great spot for families and couples alike.

Loved the property and the staff. Only issue we had was when it rained hard we could hear it constantly in the room on second floor - beyond what I would say is normal for a hotel. It sounded like there was a tin roof instead of a ceiling. The staff and food was incredible and same with overall rooms. Despite the rain issues would stay here again any day.

Despite a few issues Michel, General Manager, went out of his way to ensure we had a wonderful time at the hotel. His team clearly enjoy being at the hotel and ensuring everyone is having a great time and helping out with any queries or reservations. Ensure you take a trip to Creation for the wine tasting which is memorable. We will return for Whale watching next year.

The service, cleanliness and decor were first rate. We had booked a luxury sea view room and the view was gorgeous. Unfortunately the room was tiny with only room for the bed and one small chair - we did not feel that particular room (226) represented good value for money (£1491 for 3 nights). Reception said they had no other room available. Other rooms were much more spacious. The help received when one of our phones was lost while out in Hermanus, including a late checkout, was outstanding.

Great hotel to stay in Hermanus.

We booked this location thinking we were going to see the whales but got it wrong. They have moved on after October/November and we went early December. Having said that we are really pleased that we stayed in Hermanus for a few nights. It is a beautiful place and a world away from Cape town. The Marine is a delightful hotel with fantastic food, a nice quiet pool area and a short walk from many restaurants and shops. We had a lovely room although we did not pay extra for a sea view. Since there were no whales to see that was fine.
