Downstairs - restaurant, meals (good gf) was good, room was very poor. Bathroom was grimy, sink taps didn't work properly, no phone, no a/c, construction jackhammering 8 till 8, then weird generator noise, plastic matting on bathroom floor, elevator unclean, no room safe, and NO FRIDGE. Very disappointed.

Beautiful old hotel. Lovely breakfast. Staff very pleasant and helpful. Stayed during the heatwave last week so bedrooms were incredibly hot but fans and bottles of iced water provided. No air conditioning which would have helped enormously but did not spoil our stay. Foyer and lounge areas coolest part of hotel. Would definitely stay again, though hopefully not in a heatwave next time.

The staff were brilliant, friendly, helpful and polite. The position of the hotel was excellent for exploring the area. The room size was fine and the amenities good. What the room needed was air conditioning, I realise it is extreme heat and a fan was provided but I believe it was way too hot and oppressive. The water system was ropey and waiting for the water to arrive and the bathroom in general needed updating. However the room was clean.

The car park was very good value for money. The hotel is perfectly located with friendly and helpful staff. The only comment necessary is the low level lighting in the room, slightly higher wattage LED bulbs were needed.
