Lovely staff very accommodating.
Bathroom and small bed in need of an upgrade. Could be nice to have small fridge in room to store a cold drink or water. Nice bar food and lovely breakfast.
Friendly welcome all staff helpful and good breakfast included in the overnight stay.
Our room needed a little bit of TLC as ceiling light broken and ceiling decor looked tired.
But the rooms were clean, bed was comfortable, fresh clean towels provided and tea /coffee facilities well stocked.
Overall a nice relaxing quiet stay and would be happy to use again
Lovely 1 night stay as part of a business trip. Staff very friendly, ate evening meal in the pub downstairs - a laminated menu but great tasting pizza! Breakfast included in the price was good size portions. All in all will stay again when next in the area.
Air conditioning meant the windows remained closed and outside noise kept to a minimum, while keeping the air in the room fresh. Room was not on a main road, but next to a footpath.
Beds were comfortable. Room and ensuite were clean.
Wifi was poor, maybe due to old building having thick walls.
No parking, but parked on the street to unload and check in. Inexpensive car park nearby.
Great for one night's stay.
Nice homely rooms, much nicer than a generic hotel room. Breakfast and hot drinks made fresh for you each morning. Great service throughout. I stay here every time I'm here for work.
What a great place. Charming and helpful service, lovely old building, very comfortable. Good pub food and an excellent breakfast. Pub goes out of its way to be eco friendly.
We had an amazing stay. My friend and i took my daughter to harry potter studios, which was just 15 minutes away. The room was comfortable and clean, maybe just needs redecorating.
The staff were all very friendly and helpful and the food was great.
The area around the hotel was beautiful, well looked after with a beautiful park and play area.

Disliked: Room comfort
Avoid room 1 until they dirt out the fan noise.
Charming old coaching inn. I stay here regularly when visiting Hemel. The service and breakfast is always excellent. Room no 1 is one of the smallest and usually OK. On this occasion, there was a noisy fan outside the room which meant I didn’t get much sleep.

Great hotel but a couple of issues.
Charming and quirky old hotel. Friendly and efficient bar/check in staff. Spacious and clean room. Room 6 is due a refresh. Decor looking a bit tired. Slow service taking breakfast order and food not quite up to usual high standard.

Charming coaching inn.
Friendly staff and impressive 16th century coaching Inn on the cobbled old town high street.
Bedroom was small, but not uncomfortably so.
Shower head was split causing water to spray everywhere except where it was needed!
Small bath towels.
We have stayed here a number of times in the past, when they had free on-site parking, which helped.Sadly, that has gone now.
Pay parking is nearby and gives you a break between 6pm and 9 am.
Room was good and breakfasts were hearty.
Good budget accomodation, great staff and breakfast, no fault of the hotel but sleep was challenging thanks to other inconsiderate guests deciding to have a very extended party in the hallways/nearby rooms in the very early hours of the morning.
Perfect location for our family get together, staff were super friendly, room was clean and tidy, breakfast was lovely too.
1 minor was the ladies toilets in the pub weren't cleaned very well.
