I would recommend this hotel to anyone looking to stay in and explore Heidelberg! It was fun staying above the city instead of in it as were able to enjoy the peace and quiet of nature. Getting around wasn’t as easy as if you were staying in the city proper but we found taxi, uber, freenow, the bus and the funicular as helpful ways to get around even in the rain! Make sure to enjoy the view and the surrounding trails. The breakfast buffet was also fantastic! I will say the only down side of our trip was that the WiFi kept cutting in and out while we were relaxing in our room. I would definitely recommend this hotel!

A beautiful place in the woods overlooking Heidelberg. The room was recently redone. The staff was very friendly and spoke fluent English. The view is breathtaking. Parking in front for just 9 Euros. Now, you’d better have a car to be back and forth between the hotel and town. The funicular / tram works till 7 pm.

Stunning views from a hotel with views of Heidelberg. Rooms are very clean , modern and have a very comfy bed. Kettle and fridge in room as well as usual amenities. Good shower. Are in the hotel - excellent food and service. Would advise to book. Breakfast was lovely. Great choices available from hot buffet to cold cereal and cheeses /meats. Would stay again. Very friendly staff.

Udsigt over Heidelberg

Vi var så heldige at få et værelse med en rigtig god udsigt over Heidelberg. Netop den udsigt der trækker masser af besøgende til Königstuhl, det højt beliggende punkt langt oppe over Heidelberg. Receptionen har et venligt og imødekommende personale, der bestræber sig på at gæsterne får et godt ophold. Man bliver taget imod med udførligt information om selve Gasthof'ets faciliteter. Der er en skøn restaurant, Bergstube, hvor vi nød en dejlig middag. Morgenmaden er udmærket med brød og hvad der ellers hører sig til. God kaffe på maskinen, som med friskmalede bønner kan tilberede mange slags kaffe. Bjergbanen går fra Königstuhl til Heidelbergs slot og videre ned til Altstadt. En perfekt måde at komme ned til byen. Der er gode parkeringsforhold i garage imod betaling. Alternativt kan man parkere på den offentlige parkeringsplads i nærheden.

I was thoroughly satisfied with my stay at this hotel. The view was stunning, and everything from the staff’s hospitality to the quality and atmosphere of the breakfast was truly excellent. The room, including the bathroom and toilet, was exceptionally spacious and comfortable. I also had dinner at the on-site restaurant, which was delicious. I genuinely regretted that I was only staying for one night. It deserved more time. One moment that stood out was during check-in, when a staff member kindly informed me that parking outside the hotel was free, while the hotel’s own parking was paid. I truly appreciated this level of attentiveness, even though I ultimately chose to park inside. This is a hotel I would love to return to without hesitation.
