"I was disappointed with this stay. For the amount of money it cost, the caravan was not clean, was overcrowded and needs a lot of smarting up.
You had to pay extra to have bedding which I think is unreasonable, particularly how much it cost per night anyway. Communication with the host was fine but not great. Unfortunately I won’t be recommending or returning to this property. "

"This is easily the best hotel in Rye, and, in my opinion, one of the best I have had the pleasure of staying at.
Like many hotels the food was excellent, the service was excellent the rooms are beautifully decorated and the simple things like having a decent shower or bar are so well catered for.
What sets this apart is the vibe of the place, you can feel the history, You can feel the culture that has been created in the team, who really understand customer service. From my first interaction with Harry on reception prior to booking, to checking in and right through every interaction I felt the ten were looking after my wife and I."
"Beautiful building. Needs updating. Room was big but the bathroom was not up to standard for a 5 star hotel eg water pressure was low, the shower units were dated, no separate shower. Perfect lication. Parking available on a first serve as basis unless you pay £25 for a guaranteed parking per night. Indoor pool was okay but the pressure in the jacuzzi was not strong. Only one steam room and no sauna. Breakfast time was bit hit and miss and had to wait anling time to receive our cooked breakfast. Food at the restaurants was good but pricey given the sane food is a fraction of the price outside. We had scaffolding outside our room as there were building works being carried out and we were not told about this at the time of booking. A bit disappointed about this. Beware, not all rooms have air conditioning. The superior rooms only have a/c and more expensive. Not much by way of activities at the hotel in the evenings. All in all I would say its a 4 star at best. Perhaps once the place is renovated to high standard then it will be a 5 star."
"This review isn’t a reflection of the staff, who were friendly and enthusiastic throughout. In fact, I wasn’t planning to leave one until the hotel’s dog policy completely changed my mind.
If you want a cheap stay and can tolerate the quirks of a tired 3-star hotel, this place is fine. But if you expect much more, you’ll be disappointed.
The biggest issue was the dog charge. When booking, it was advertised as £10 per night, but at check-in we were suddenly told it was £20 per dog, per night. One of our nights cost £68, meaning nearly a 30% surcharge just for bringing a dog. No bed, treats, bowls or extras were provided, and rooms aren’t even serviced daily unless requested, so it felt like pure “guest tax.” After some back and forth they honoured the original £10, but only after insisting it had always been £20. That alone is why this is a 1-star review.
Other issues:
Lift broken the entire stay on the 3rd floor
Champagne ordered for the room never arrived
Wonky floors and damaged walls left unattended
Broken ceiling light and blocked shower tray
The evening entertainment felt awkwardly empty, and while the afternoon tea was good value, the setting didn’t match the experience it was trying to create. The staff were lovely and doing their best.
Ultimately, this hotel needs investment and attention from ownership. The staff can only do so much. With the recent BHGroup acquisition, hopefully improvements come soon. But for now, I’d suggest spending that extra £20 elsewhere."
"I was very disappointed with my stay at the Best Western in Eastbourne. The hotel feels very outdated and poorly maintained. There was no air conditioning in the room, only a small fan, which was uncomfortable especially during warmer weather.
The room itself looked tired, with old carpets and paint peeling off in places. The bed was made from metal tubes and felt unstable and shaky every time I moved. The mattress was also very old and even stitched in some areas, which did not feel hygienic or comfortable.
Breakfast was very basic and not particularly enjoyable.
Overall, the hotel did not meet my expectations and certainly did not feel good value for money. I would not choose to stay there again."
"The reception staff were helpful and very nice, we have stayed at this hotel many times and no to take bottles of water whilst in room, I do feel though that at least 2 bottles should be provided it’s not a budget price hotel, the bath plug was blocked which we did inform the reception at check out for future guests ."
"Very spacious room, clean and comfortable. Need a shelf of some kind in shower for shower gel etc, made showering a bit tricky. Could also do with fans in room when hot weather. Building looking a bit tired but super location and clean. Would definitely stay again. Fridge in room was a bonus in the hot weather."
"Room was ok. Nice clean bathroom and shower was good.
Check in was terrible, it’s a self check in room and no codes were sent, i tried calling the host multiple times via phone and WhatsApp, no response.
I had to contact Hotels.com customer service and wait an hour to get a key-code to enter.
There was no WiFi, there were instructions on the wall but the router was not present, a neighbour had the same problem.
The TV only works on WIFI so no TV.
The location is handy being close to the train station and central, but the host needs to either be available to provide guests check in details or if they’re too busy take it off-line so it doesn’t show available for potential guests.
Would I stay again?? Yes probably, but I’d be sure to engage with the host to make sure they’re awake before confirming any booking."
