"Wonderful find. (A little hard to find the entrance in the dark) We arrived late after a walking tour in Salem. Our first room the heater didn't work and the guy from the office came down immediately, then moved us to another room. Both were CLEAN and well updated. We lamented that we were only staying the one night."

"Context: I traveled solo, but I booked this hotel to visit my girlfriend. She stayed in my room for a few hours a couple nights. While my experience was certainly bad with staff, it is not a reflection of ALL of the staff there. I'll start with the good. Pros: • while hotels are incredibly overpriced, it's about as cheap as you are going to find, and you get what you pay for. • the room itself was fine. Clean, neat, private, good lighting, had a fridge and microwave, and I slept comfortably. • Abundant parking close to entrance. Cons: • A particular staff member was incredibly unprofessional, grumpy, and disrespectful, and made a highly uncomfortable (and unprofessional) comment regarding my girlfriend and me. • Hallway would smell like weed. • Room cards were finicky, taking multiple swipes sometimes. I had to ask an employee to reset mine because my card stopped scanning on the second night. • Poor management led to more people booking rooms (via 3rd party sites) than they physically had available, resulting in people being (and I cannot stress this enough) RUDELY turned away even if they had already paid online. I settled for whatever room they had available. I had such a bad experience with the people here between that staff member and the other people staying (the energy was miserable) that I will not be coming back here again when I visit."

"We stayed here for 2 nights and it was good for the price we paid (less expensive than other hotels in the area). The room was very spacious, including a huge entryway. It was helpful to have that space to serve as a buffer to the noise outside in the hallway from the elevator and ice machine. The fridge in the room was large . The walls were paper thin though - we could hear everything coming from the room next door, including when we were in the bathroom (we could hear them using the toilet). That did keep us up late when we were trying to go to bed. I used the gym there and that was pretty disappointing. It didn't open until 6 (why? you need a room key to get in anyway), and it was HOT. There was absolutely no air in there whatsoever and no way to get air conditioning in there. I did a weightlifting workout and I was nauseous from the heat by the end. I could not have handled doing an intense cardio workout in there. There were no towels; I had to go into the pool area to get a sweat towel. There were no wipes for the equipment either. One of the dumbbells was missing. Breakfast was ok. It was a nice space. The outside of the property was very pleasant with the landscaping they had. The front desk person was very helpful in getting us a late checkout. However, someone tried to come in our room 3 times that day (including the person who approved the late checkout), and a different person called the room to see why we were still there. That was very frustrating."
