Fantastoc in Every Respect

Simply stunning. This is a fantastic place to stay. Set in a peaceful area with its own garden area complete with furniture and a small summer house. The room simply has everything you could wish for and every item provided is good or even high quality. The hosts are very helpful in every respect and really want you to enjoy every aspect of the room and the gardens and also have a great knowledge of the local area.

Highly recommended place to stay

We thoroughly enjoyed our time at Marchmont Gardens. It was close enough to town but also far enough away to feel a Little bit rural. The treats were much appreciated.

This is a superb place to stay in Hanmer Springs. The unit is spacious, clean and of very high quality. Jan was welcoming and helpful. This would be the accommodation we’ll want to stay in next time we come back.

The property is surrounded by well kept gardens - giving the chance to sit in the room and look out, or go and sit in the gardens and enjoy. The room is well equipped and comfortable. The walk into town is not a major issue. Definitely a place Id happily return to.

Lovely views and surroundings

Loved the views, the garden and the very pleasant 1.5km walk to town. The unit was generally comfortable - bed perhaps slightly firm and TV a bit small and distant but no big deal. Equipment and supplies were good and the place was spotless. Very good breakfast option. An excellent choice for a relaxing stay in Hanmer.

One of the nicest places we have stayed at in our road trip throughout the South Island. Peaceful beyond words, so much so we decided to stay an extra day. Fabulous host and the little treats were lovely. The gardens at Marchmont Gardens are a sight to behold, and lovingly cared for. We will recommend to friends, family and our overseas visitors. We ourselves will no doubt be returning.

Fantastic accommodation in Hanmer Springs

Marchmont is a little piece of paradise set amongst beautiful gardens. Very comfortable spotlessly clean accommodation with a kitchenette to self cater if you want. Jan is a wonderful host and it is well worthwhile taking the breakfast option to sample all her homemade goodies. We spent 5 nights and enjoyed biking, hiking and soaking in the Hanmer Springs hot pools. This would be the best place to stay in Hanmer Springs

The family only rents out 2 rooms. She keeps them in very good condition and very clean; great value for money... TV channels could be better, though.

First up, have the breakfast. Superb doesn't do it justice. And if its a nice morning, have it in the garden. As for everything else, just perfect. We stayed in Mt Dunblane suite. Everything in the room screamed quality. A few other things. The hosts were fantastic and the gardens are breathtaking. And did we mention the brekky!! Will return. Darren & Jacqui

Superb B&B, self contained cottage in the lovely garden of the owners. Hanmer Springs is a brilliant resort for walking & cycling. Free use of the owners’ bikes was a real bonus. Very highly recommended
