X1 night at Hameln, hotel good location for getting into beautiful old town, not so good food at Ambrosia. Missed the Pied piper museum as arrived to late and not open to couples on Mondays but enjoyed the stay

Ideal for a city break in Hameln

The Mercure is ideally situated by old Hamelin, within a five minute walk you're in the heart of the old town. The hotel isn't a new build but has been well maintained. The is a small parking place at the front of the hotel for approximately a dozen cars. We arrived late evening and it was full so parked in instead in the underground parking for the town hall, which has a direct exit for the hotel and costs €8.50 and via the hotel. The breakfast offering is a wide selection from continental, German, and cooked with a great selection of coffee, teas and quality juices. Although breakfast is included automatically, it shouldn't be missed. We were travelling as a family with two children aged 10 and 7, and it was easy to cater for them. Would also recommend Cafe Am Ring across the park to the hotel and we ate well there too.

Good, not great. Weird room

I was upgraded I guess from a standard room to some kind of premium. Bedroom, living room and work room. The bedroom and the bathroom were identical to a standard room, real nice. The living room was just a sofa and a small table in a large room. Just a industrial type ceiling light, they had done nothing to create a premium feeling which I found weird. It made you not want to use it so I would have been equally content in a standard room.

Good choice for Hameln Tour

Generally satisfied. Good location. Easy working access to the Hameln city center. Nice Park right outside the hotel. Free drinking water supply. The staffs were very friendly.

Nice and clean

Nice and clean, comfortable rooms. Shame there is no kettle in the room meaning you have to go down to use a machine. Also the restaurant was not open in the evening so had to go out and find somewhere to eat.
