The staff is helpful and the room is comfortable. They have a luggage room if you arrive early or leave late. They provide a travel card for public transportation and it is one metro ride to most of the tourist attractions. The back street seemed a little bit sketchy at night but might be normal as the hotel is just next to the train station.

I simply loved my stay at the Hotel Fuerst Bismarck.It is very reasonably priced and the staff is very attentive and helpful. The breakfast was an additional 19 Euro per person but absolutely worth it. The hotel is located across from Hamburg Main Station in a safe and centrally located area. The Alster is only a short walk away as well as the fun district of St. Georg with lots of little bars, bistros and restaurants. If you want to visit Museum Ballinstadt - which you should! - you can get there easily from the Main Station by S-Bahn in 20 minutes.

Good location just outside the station. Clean and friendly staff. Noisy from inside (staff lift) and outside (wise homeless and drug issues than we've seen elsewhere.

Just an overnight stay on route to elsewhere. Very, very convenient location, opposite the main train station! Breakfast, expensive, but decent. Would stay again.

This is a great location in the city because is near the train station (Hbf) where the S- & U-bahn, buses and taxis are plentiful. The staff were very helpful, the room was clean and nonsmoking. It is an older building and has an elevator, but there are often steps to negotiate on each floor.

Convenient hotel

Great location with hop on hop off bus opposite the hotel. You have to leave the key at reception if you go out of the hotel. Probably a good thing as a key is very heavy.

This hotel is fine. It is very basic, but clean enough and comfortable enough. However, the photos are misleading. There are no pictures on the wall, flowers in the room, multiple seating options, trees outside (except possibly one room near the only tree). This is an adequate hotel if you need a very basic overnight place right near the Hamburg train station. But the area is busy, not particularly safe, and loud -- immediately across from main station. Breakfast is fine, not great but adequate. I am not sorry we stayed here given its price and convenience, but it is much more of an economy business choice than a tourism/vacation choice. Staff was pleasant and helpful.

Lovely hotel in great position

An overnight stop with a four night stop to follow. Great position. No stairs at entrance. Lift availability to room as well as stairs. Reception area was busy with people checking in but flowed well and the reception staff were friendly and helpful.
