I really like a proper old grand hotel so I enjoyed this stay. Room was a good size. Could use a plug nearer the bed but that’s a minor gripe.

Very strange room quite large with a very small double bed not as wide or long as a standard double Room was in the basement and you would not want to spend anytime in there other than to sleep. Staff helpful and we could check in early and location was good as you could walk to everywhere in Halifax. Ok if you just need a bed for the night as we did but not if you wanted to spend a weekend away and the hotel was part of the experience

Central position makes it appealing, but it is a bit dated and not well looked after. It was fine for a couple of nights.

This is NOT a 3-star Hotel. The room carpet was dirty; the toilet would not flush; the Wi-Fi connection was terrible; the double bed was very uncomfortable (we had to rotate the mattress). Incredible building, but not well looked after; it has seen better days. Would be worth booking a Travelodge or Premier Inn for a bit more money.

Firstly location is great as very central - easy reach of train and bus stations, shops etc. Staff friendly and informative. Room was very clean and had a fan, tea and coffee. Furnishings are dated but serviceable. Bed was very comfortable with soft pillows. Bit of a rabbit warren getting to room up and down stairs. There is a lift but it's slow. Would stay again as such a great location.
