The property is in an older building, clearly converted perhaps from another hotel. The rooms are a decent size and comfortable. Other amenities we appreciated were the continental breakfast, the cool pool (it would have been nice to have it heated), and laundry facilities.
We did have one or two hiccups, when we returned to our room one day to discover that the room cleaning wasn't completed, the garbage bag was closed but set on the desk, and the vacuum was in front of our door. We assume the staff had been called away - it was rectified later.
The telephone did not work, we heard static on the line and there was a squealing noise when one hung up. This was mentioned to the front desk person twice, but it was never fixed. The only time we needed it was to call the front desk, but as the hotel is relatively small, we didn't really need it.
We appreciated the location as it was close to shopping and restaurants. Keep in mind though that the trip to downtown Halifax and the waterfront will take some time as the traffic can be heavy at time
