One of the main things on this hotel is is very historic and is excellent for the location so that you can just park the car in a start walking everywhere and visiting that beautiful city when you carry your luggage, there is no elevators to the second floor because he’s an old monastery so if your luggage is very heavy, could be a problem the rooms are very spacious except for the bathrooms, they are very small. Breakfast is really good and the staff is very nice. The city is absolutely wonderful. Many places to go and visit restaurant and everything is walkable.

As a former monastery the corridors and rooms are very quirky and the aircon was excellent. A good breakfast too. Location is very central.

Smart looking hotel in former convent, in Spain/Portugal this would be a Parador/Pousada but it might need a bit of spruce to get up to 5 stars. Atmospheric place and a comfortable stay. Staff were helpful, location is bang in the centre next to the river, about 10 mins from the rail station.

Fantastisk sted

Vi havde nogle fantastiske dage, hotellet ligger perfekt i bymmidten og i gåafstand til alt. Servicen var i top og alle var søde. Vi havde 2 små hunde med og de var mere end velkomne. Vi kommer gerne igen

Very Unique property. Breakfast was same items each day. Staff was helpful - I had to go to Emergency Room during visit - staff was great in the process. The room was clean but beware that European beds are very narrow. AC worked well. Staff could understand some English - enough to communicate. Be sure to bring European electric plugs. Also, be sure to know how to connect your phone system to in car mapping systems as Gyor does not have street signs - you HAVE to rely on GPS. Quiet eloquent hotel!

Although the property is older, it is definitely well taken care of. Close to the older part of town and less than a ten minute walk from the train station you can't go wrong staying here. I will say it was one of the smallest beds I've ever slept on. One other cool note, the Pope stayed here once!

Interesting old building in a great location for exploring Gyor. Close to the center but quiet. Excellent breakfast and super helpful staff. Everything worked everyone was helpful and great value. We were only here for one night but it was at the end of a hectic month of travel. In Gyor fairly frequently but this was our first time at the Kastrom we will be back.
