I’ve stayed here multiple times over the past 3 years and each time it seems to be in worse shape than before. During my entire 4 night stay, I had warm water during every shower. I told the front desk and she mentioned something with the boiler system vent and that it would be good in 10 minutes after she walks back to fix it. I got back that evening and no hot water again. My refrigerator didn’t have a freezer and it barely worked. The white towels were a little dingy looking so it made me think they weren’t washed after the last person. I inspected them thoroughly and it seemed like they were clean so I did use them. The drains were very slow! The shower would hold about 3” of water and take about 5 minutes after I was done to drain. The toilets flushed really slow as well. I realize this isn’t 5 star resort. I stay here because it’s a block away from family and usually decent for my average standards. A local told me that since new ownership, it’s gone downhill as they don’t put money back into the place. I’m not sure that’s true, but it does lineup with my experience. I’m going to consider staying at the nicer hotel across town from now on. I’m sure it’ll cost more, but it will be a nice place. If you’re just coming in for an evening and leaving early the next day, it’s worth the money. If you stay longer, go across town.

For what I had paid for the property I was not entirely impressed. Room wasn’t ready when we arrived and the hotel itself is a bit outdated as well as musky. The front desk person was not very hospitable but it was very easy to see she was also the only staff and trying to juggle many things at once. The area around is safe and beautiful. The small town of gunnison has a small downtown shopping area and locals were very welcoming and fun too. The breakfast at this hotel was phenomenal. The hotel felt very safe.

Pool area was not accessible due to maintenance and bathroom was small, also there was no thermostat to control the temperature of the room during our stay and house keeping kept trying to come in even when we had our do not disturb sign on the door. Luckily we were up getting ready to head downstairs for breakfast already when we noticed someone was trying to open our door. We did not care for this and let the front desk know , after that we were not bothered by housekeeping anymore.

Older hotel located conveniently for hospital access. Wouldn't have minded hotel age but the carpet in our room was very stained. Bathroom floor still had hair on it and even a penny which you'd think would be noticeable to housekeeping. Also had a dirty towel hanging on the back of bathroom door.

The hotel is clean and quiet. The staff we came in contact with were courteous and friendly, The room was clean and the bed was comfortable. The negatives are mostly minor and aesthetic: The carpet in the hallway and stairs needs replacement ; it’s worn and stained in some places. The shower curtain in our bathroom also needs replacing, the once-white fabric is dinghy and yellowed. The faucet over the sink has come loose from the countertop and needs to be resealed. The toilet needs a new handle and/or flushing mechanism; it keeps running unless you keep jiggling the handle. Little refreshes that would go a long way.
