Absolutely loved our stay! The hotel is incredibly swanky—the perfect luxurious escape. Beyond the gorgeous decor, the staff were wonderful and genuinely friendly, making our time here truly enjoyable. Highly recommend!

The room was clean and tidy, and I loved the decor, especially how spacious the bathroom was. Although the air conditioning was not initially functioning well, we eventually figured it out, and it worked effectively. However, I wish the room had a window. I love how everything was walking distance.

Megan was super sweet & personable, as was Dre at the superb restaurant. Great decor. Room was a bit cold, but other than that 10/10 We’ll definitely be back, in hopes to make it to Ship Island this time.

The Hotel Vela is a unique and terrific boutique hotel, very befitting of the enchanting and warm and welcoming walkable area that is Gulfport on the Sound. It's quite the vibe with its little speakeasy type bar and restaurant, Sirens. It is as its name implies alluring. A great spot for conversation and a great cocktail. A welcoming as the bar is, the staff was simply beaming goblets of hospitality at its finest. Warm, lovely and most gracious hosts indeed. As If that Weren't enough the style and subtle easy wrapped elegance of the walk up to the rooms feels a bit like a rendezvous spot. I simply loved the intrigue of what lay behind the door in room number 7! I can only say that the oversized room was so soothing and inviting, an appeal to my senses. The room opened to me and then cradled me into it's peaceful warm glove, it settled me into the downy of its immersive bed. The level of comfort, the restfulness, the simmering stroke of decadent release of the mattress perfectly outfitted is unforgettable. I can't wait to return to sleep here again. Loved The Vela.

I have been to a ton of hotels for business and personal like this time and this was one of the better places I have stayed. People were very friendly. Room was nice. Parking price was great and was very close to the beach and very safe. Really enjoyed it

Left the room early in the morning and returned around 5 p.m. The room had not been cleaned and there were no fresh towels. The young lady at the front desk was very helpful in getting us fresh towels and cups for the room.

Awesome restaurant on the ground floor. Get the half chicken and a shrimp cocktail. Brand new hotel. Infinitely joyful reception people.

Gulfport weekend

Air conditioner could use a cleaning in room 12 I'm assuming that's why it couldn't keep up with the heat outside during our stay. Wifi was very weak as well. Maybe it's because of the building. Otherwise, everything else was great. Staff was very friendly, the bed was comfy, room was very clean, towels were high quality. Great location near a bunch of nice eateries.

Hotel Vela is a cute and quaint boutique hotel. We enjoyed our room and found it quite comfortable. I did not like having to check in on a computer and not knowing which room was our room. We had to take the keycard and walk down the hall and try each door until we found our room. Another downfall is the upcharge on amenities. They wanted to charge for parking. There were two bottles of water in the room, but they were $5.00 a piece. Overall, good experience, but I would not try and nickel and dime your customer. Give the customer the 50 cent bottle of water as part of your experience.
