Kirkjufell view cottages

I stayed here 4 times now and absolutely love these cottages! Great location just outside of Grundarfjordur...very quiet and peaceful with great views looking out to ocean, mountains/Kirkjufell, and beautiful sunsets! Cottage as everything you need even small stove plate on the kitchenette you feel like cooking. Hosts also great and reply in timely manner to emails.

Secluded quiet location. Access is bia dirt road. Nearby town is about 20 minutes away. The cottages are much better than the studio option. But more expensive. The shower curtain was too short so water would spill all over the bathroom floor. We had to clean the floor after every shower. During our 3 night stay there the room and bathroom were never cleaned by hotel staff.

Absolutely stunning views. Peaceful and quiet and had a good stock of kitchen items for us to prepared food. Some concerns were late information regarding check-in instructions and the key/lock didn't work.

CWe loved our stay at Dis cottages – the view cannot be beat! The bed was comfortable, the shower had plenty of hot water. It was a great location for us between Grundarfjordur and Stykkisholmur when exploring the Snaefellness peninsula.

We stayed here two nights, it was a beautiful little cottage. The windows gave an amazing view and overall was very quiet. It was close by to a small town with a grocery store and few places for coffee and food.

We stayed here for two days early September. The location of this cabin is very nice and peaceful. It offers a side view of Kirkjufell mountain and the little town, as well as a beautiful view of the ocean, but is located about a ten minute drive from both locations. We arrived on a very windy and rainy day. A window had been left open in the cabin and it was very chilly and humid in there. The heat did not work. The owners quickly responded to our message and came over to try and fix it to no avail. They brought us three portable heaters to heat up the cabin which eventually became a comfortable temperature, but this created moisture problems in the windows.

Such a peaceful stay with an amazing view! The location was great, only 10min from town, but located in a very quiet area. Room darkening curtains, very comfortable bed, basic kitchen amenities for simple meals. Host was wonderful! We would definitely stay here again.

We loved Dis Cottages! What a perfect place to rest after our flight and to start our Icelandic adventure. So many amazing things to do and so close by! We especially loved our view of the horses, ocean, and Kirkjufell. Thank you Anna and Sebastian for your flexibility and kindness. We can’t wait to return one day!
