DONT JUDGE A BOOK BY ITS COVER and here is your proof when I pulled in to the car park I thought what have I booked? But what I a lovely surprise bean I went inside clean friendly staff with great clean spacious rooms with equipped with tea, coffee biscuits, towels in the bathroom with shampoo soap and breakfast was very good and plenty of it and served from 06:30 so time to eat it and get to work so 5 stars all round

Hotel very old and dated. No heating on in the room, had to turn on the radiator my self that only reached Luke warm had to go to reception where I was given a small oil radiator that left the reception staff cold? lots of other gests also had rooms with very little heating. All this on 31st December. Bed was comfortable but with only a very thin summer quilt still cold. The room was very drab brown walls brown furniture very old and brown carpet. Lighting in the room very poor just two small wall lights could hardly see. Bathroom very small no room to move in it and poor shower. Not worth the money would not recommend.

Good stay with a great , quiet room. Service and breakfast excellent. However, there was an issue with housekeeping, being left only 1 towel between 2 adults twice, the first time being left a dirty towel. We told reception who quickly sorted the issue.

Room was smarter as was externals, had a refresh? Breakfast was much as previous, they need new toasters, meal arrives from kitchen before a couple of slices of bread look even a pale shade of brown! Bacon was a challenge for the knives provided, not crispy just shoe leather hard.

Room was supposed to be a deluxe state but it was anything but. The room needed a redecoration, it was not of a standard that would be considered deluxe. A room at a premier inn would outdo this room . It was needing a good clean. The bathroom was dirty by the bath tap and the sink as well as the extractor fan. It also needs a refurb. Mould showing around the tiles.it all looked drab and tired. Nothing deluxe about it- I feel we paid over the odds for this room. The lift wasn’t working( we had received an email before arriving but we thought it would be possibly working by our arrival- it wasn’t and the whole time we stayed we didn’t see any work being done to get the lift working. The stairs looked dirty as well as the carpeting both on the stairs and leading to the rooms as well as it was bubbling up ready to cause a trip hazard . The eating area was next to the reception- all open plan; it was chilly- no barriers to help make it feel like a private place to eat and relax. No idea why this wasn’t thought of at the planning stage. It would have cut down the noise and echo as well as the feel one was eating in a room and not a big reception area with all the comings and going’s of people arriving for rooms or the ins and outs of people from the conference area using the toilets. Very disappointing visit. We thought we had found a gem of a hotel to stay at while visiting family.
