This place is like a mini apartment with kitchenette located in busy location with mall restaurants stores so everything is near and walking distance. Like any older type of motel/hotel there’s always the need for updating rooms outside fix this and that. If I was in the area again and needed a place I would stay again. Staff at front were pleasant

I chose the property because of it's proximity to shops/restaurants and the airport. It's very average and not worth the price I paid compared to other hotels I stayed at in the area. I had a few issues and the staff were accomodating and friendly, but not accessible other than by phone.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. The tv setup in the loft bedroom was not working as it was not even attached to satellite system (making it hard for me to sleep as I need the white noise to do so); mentioned to management and she said she would try to reach maintenance (unable to as it was the weekend). Also tried to use coffee pot to make hot water for tea and it was not working (reported to management as checking out; on there 2 nights). Other than that, it was a very nice room!!

Rough Property, Understanding Management 1) The Affordable Suites were more like ghetto housing projects than a half decent Inn. 2) The Management was very understanding and refunded our bill We booked a weeklong stay for "Affordable Suites of America Grand Rapids" six months in advance. The pictures online seemed nice and the reviews were okay. We arrived last week, the check in was fine, but as soon as we pulled away from the office, it was clear something was very wrong. The landscaping was neglected, the outside facilities were dirty and some rubbish was laying around. The other vehicles parked were all worn-out jalopies. We parked, and found a intravenous needle on the parking lot. The smell of waste, pot, trash, and human body odor was unmistakable in the air. The inside of the suite we booked was sticky everywhere. The floor was dirty and sticky, the shower was broken, the microwave was broken. There were patched and unpainted holes and dings everywhere on the walls. The front desk management was very understanding when we pointed these things out and we received a full refund. Thank you for that!

Our heat didn’t work. The thermostat stayed at 60, and we ended up turning the stove and oven on for heat. The sliding door was also left unlock, a bag of trash (13 gallon sz trash bag) was left behind the door entrance, and a used bar of soap was left behind.

The room was disgusting, the floor was so sticky your shoes stayed when you moved, there was black hair on the walls of the shower, there was God knows what in the freezer and fridge and the couch made you cringe and I sure wouldn't use a black light in the room. The front desk clerk was rude and refused to switch rooms or have housekeeping come and clean the room. Her response was well I can give you a refund and you can find someplace else to go. Apparently they don't like being called out on what needs to be cleaned or that they have nasty rooms

The place is very dated. The room was clean but parts of it looked like it took a beating. Despite being a suite there were no dishes or silverware in the room. No coffee maker, nothing.
