Go straight to the Nicaragua Guesthouse and use Indrive or a similar service to get there. It is an excellent place for solo travellers, couples, or small families.」

Be warned- it is remote so only the on site restaurant (carrot soup was amazing) and sometimes limited water. Only accessible by 4x4 but easy to organize a ride with the lodge. We were greeted by someone that spoke no english which was quite uneasy seeing as how we just arrived on the island at 6pm (sunset) and wanted to familiarize ourselves with the space.
