July 2015 Kogelsee, Lechtaler Alps Kogelsee lake in 2.171 m altitude is one of the many lakes in Lechtaler Alps in Tirol, Austria. On the left the Kogel (2.318 m) and to the right the green meadows of Taja Spítze (2.352 m). In the background in middle there are the Allgaeuer Alps behind the Lech river valley (= Lechtal). This is the route from Gramais village (1.437 m) to Hanauer Huette over Kogelseescharte saddle. It is a demanding 5 hours trek, day 1 of our 4-days trek in Lechtaler Alps this summer.

July 2015 Church of St. John the Baptist The Catholic church dedicated to St. John the Baptist in the village of Gramais built in 1824-33. Gramais is a tiny village with some 50 people just below the north side of Lechtal Alps in Tirol, Austria. It was founded in 14th century and its name origin is from latin Graminosa or Grumoso which means grass-rich. Gramais is located in altitude of 1.327 meters and is connected with the Lech river valley (alt. ca. 1.000 m) in north with a 8 km long mountain road. It is a great starting point for hiking or trekking in Lechtal Alps.
July 2015 Otterbach creek, Lechtal Alps Otterbach creek as seen at the beginning of the valley running to the village of Gramais in Lechtal Alps in Austria. It is almost the end of the round trek from Gramais over Memminger Huette and back. The descend from Memminger Huette takes some 3 to 4 hours and for us it was quite tough as we had to do it in the full mist and slight rain. However an experience does not have to be always pleasant as long as it is strong :)

First of all, we were welcomed by friendly staff. The room was clean, and the sauna was great. We even wanted to extend our stay, but unfortunately the price had already doubled.

Beyond expectations!!
We visited Schloss Neuschwanstein during the day, and stayed in the hotel. It's very nice , cosy and clean in the room. Good beer and desert in the restaurant. Had a wonderful and relax time during the stay. Highly recommended if you drive while visiting Schloss Neuschwanstein.
