Staff were friendly, helpful, polite and professional. Breakfast food was very good, with plenty of variety. Location was just outside of Lerwick with good connections to the rest of the island(s), and wirh plenty of free off road parking.

Really enjoyed staying here. Only a ten minute drive out of Lerwick. Breakfast was delicious. Really nice room. Good shower pressure. Lovely hosts. Plenty of parking space.

A lovely place - the room was gorgeous. It was perfect for what we needed, within half an hour to the Sumburgh Airport. The stairs to the rooms might be challenging for some but this is not uncommon for an older style Shetland hotel. The dining and lounge areas were quaint and comfortable. Dinner was simple but just what we wanted. The staff were lovely.

This property boasts Shetland’s beautiful scenery, and affords a lovely, quiet location while being only minutes from Lerwick. The staff are lovely and accommodating. The breakfasts are delicious, as are the other special menu items; available to dine in or as room service. The rooms are clean and well maintained and provide amenities not always available in any hotel; let alone a small, country inn. Microwave, toaster, kettle, fridge and a well stocked minbar to name a few. There are laundry services available, as well. And the staff take very good care of your personal items.

We booked two nights and were sold an economical double room. The room was tiny with the bed only accessible on one side. The proprietor helped us pull it away from the wall so we didn't have to climb over one another in the night. This made the room smaller and exposed the cabling and wires hidden. The hotel decor was unusual; hunting trophies from Africa (horned skulls) and Asian bric a brac. The breakfast was limited and if we asked for toast we got a slice provided. I understood that the property had changed hands this March. This is clearly a factor but we couldn't recommend this hotel on the basis of our stay.

The cleanliness of the guest house was okay and the decor had an old eclectic mix. Disappointed with the lack of interaction from the owners, although staff were attentive they were not communicative. Food was alright but certainly not outstanding. We were surprised of the service due to lack of guests.

This hotel is a home away from home. So inviting and warm with attention to every detail. Wonderful home cooked meals and a county inn setting. We will be back! The proprietors Marjorie and Gordon make us feel so welcome and cared for.Highly recommended and sad to leave!
