"When checking in, the front desk informed me that they moved my reservation to the express hotel down the street. They offered me free breakfast, which I later found was free to begin with. The front desk lady said my room was upgraded at the express hotel. When I got to the express room, it was twin beds for my wife and I and the space was too small for us and two bags. The TV didn’t work either, not that I wanted to watch a German show, but just adds to the drama. The front desk lady said they messaged me but that was a lie too. I was sent an email only saying “we look forward to your stay.” I would not recommend staying at this place. I’ve been to Tutt several times and would go to Truebe instead. "

My only real gripe was the plastic mattress protector on the obviously new mattress- you’ll wake up in a pool of sweat in the middle of the night. They went above and beyond to help me from restaurant reservations, what points of interest to see, and even printed several documents I needed for me. "I stumbled upon Sombea during a trip through Southern Germany, and I highly recommend this hotel to anyone staying in the area. The staff is helpful, the rooms are clean and comfortable, and the restaurant is delicious. If I find that my travels take be back to the Schwarzwald, I will be staying at Sombea again."

"Very friendly welcome and pleasant room. However the noise from the lift was very unwelcome and went on until midnight. We were in room 41 first after reception and also had noise from other guests as they passed our door. Otherwise a very nice hotel and lovely buffet dinner and breakfast."
