"Overall the Lodge was very good with staff very helpful and supportive. The room was spacious and clean. One thing the management needs to aware that the washer and dryers were not working well. The laundry facility should be a good and convenience for the guests and should be a big credit to the lodge, but if the washers and dryers are not working well, it will become a big damage to the overall impression of the guests staying in the lodge. I used the washer and both dryers during my stay, and the clothes were not dry enough (the spinner not working well), and I needed to use both (two) dryers to dry the wet clothers, and I need to keep on drying the clothes again and again (total 4 times of each dryer). Very expensive and time consuming. I hope the management of the lodge need to fix it ASAP to avoid the frustration and complaints of the future guests. But overall very good stay with the lodge."

"Our stay here was great. The room was a good size with plenty of room for our suit cases and to just lounge around. The bathroom was great because it not only had a towel heater but a bathroom light that heat the room as well. The hot tub on the bottom floor took a little long to fill but it was still good to have. All in all, a great place to stay."

"The only downside was the reception office that’s been placed in an improvised shipping container, I believe some buildings are undergoing renovations so I assume this is temporary. Other than that I only have good notes on this property. Feeding the alpacas was a nice add on for our kids. Great place to stay close to all the main area attractions. Quiet and comfortable."

"Such a beautiful old building that the owners are taking very good care of. The rooms were plush but small. The majority of the staff bent over backwards to help us and show us around. Recommend staying here for the history of the building."

"Great place to stay! Clean, comfortable, convenient, quiet, cozy! We explored all over the north island and this was the perfect “home base”. Alyce at the front desk was particularly helpful and friendly. The grounds are very pretty and well maintained. All the amenities you could need are there. Even a heated bathroom floor!! (We loved that!)"
