Home away from home with Roman history

I was impressed at the quality of the hotel and the hosts. My train was late and they stayed waiting for me as they do not live onsite. Then the next day they gave me a tour of the hotel including the history - a lot of love went into the renovation. The fact I stayed at a hotel with one of the last Roman walls but also a Carolingian wall - was so impressive. When I was shown my room - I was stunned by the beauty and comfort. The owners went to a lot of effort to ensure the suite was comfortable and had things for a good stay. The welcome gift was cookies and the local liqueur Ratafia. When I asked for a local Catalonian restaurant, they provided a great place and helped me make reservation. Do not hesitate - this is like home away from home.
