Whats not to like. Its a delightful and charming gem of a place. The virtues of the 9th century vintage shophouse design are exploited to the full, in conjunction with al modern amenities. JL is a genial and affable host. I do expect to return and do not hesitate to recommend this venue to customers in the future.

Fantastic service

Fantastic service by the hotel manager. Initially we though he was the owner as he was so friendly and proud of the hotel. He seemed to be there all the time, always greeting the guests warmly, helpful in giving advice of the local areas and helping to book restaurants and taxis. Even personally escorted us to the local eating places nearby. Great authentic cultural experience staying in a newly refurbished old shop houses. Great location. The rooms were furnished with furniture from the older Malaysian times.

A very warm and special kind of hotel experience

This is a very special accommodation experienc for me. The hotel is small of seven room only. The owner and the staffs had a heart on it and I could feel their services are very unique and excellent. When I arrived, instead of check-in, the manager Mr. CHANG hosted me with and drinks and cakes while gave a brief on the major tourist locations and recommended restaurants of Penang when learning we were the first time visitors to the city. After it, we were admitted to our room without check-in. The room is spacious and clean. On the third day, we found sets of quilts and pillows of different patterns are placed. It impressed me as I guess other hotel will not change of the look of the quilts no matter how long a guest will stay. Restaurant for breakfast is arranged at the nearby Cafe of Little Angel. The food is good. More than that, its boss/cook would warmly recommended different food choices so our breakfasts need not to be repeated during our stay and we could also tasted more local delicious foods. The hotel is at the heart of George Town, so it is very close and only walks away from the locations of visitor interest nearby. The room is spacious and clean. It has two beds, and one of the bed is upstairs. It is the main reason I chose it. The owner likes green plants, and full of lovely pot plants in the corridors outside the guest rooms. It is a very wonderful experiences of my stay.

Palm Mansion är ett utmärkt boende. Fantastisk service av den vänligaste pensionatsvärden man kan tänka sig. Rent, stiligt, rymliga rum med perfekt läge. Jag vet precis var jag skall bo om jag kommer tillbaks till Penang. Under vår vistelse fick vi frukost på olika lokala ställen runt hotellet - oväntad men väldigt bra lösning; omväxlande och gott.

STRONGLY RECOMMENED! Dr. Teng is the best hotel owner i have ever met. His passion, friendliness and personality impressed me massively. Location: you do not find better location. All you wanna see is within walking distance of 10 mins. Room: Cosy and clean. Service: WOW! Totally out of my expectations. I have hight standards for hotel, to be honest. But i am speechless and amazed by Dr. Teng's personel. They think what i need before i even know myself. To be short, this is my next stay when i visit penang again. Best of luck, Dr. Teng

Wonderful Experience

Offers a very personal touch unlike hotels. The owner Dr T, his wife and manager Mr Chan were very hospitable. Mr Chan was always ready to share tips on Penang and was attentive to our needs. Location is central within heritage zone. All rooms are on 2nd floor of row of shophouses. Very spacious with a corridor to chill amidst the well maintained pretty plants.

Awesome place to stay in Penang!

My group of friends (6 of us) had a great time at Palm Mansion. The rooms had a wonderful rustic villa feel that makes u feel so at home. The rooms are clean and the hotel is strategically located. Street art and museums are nearby and so are the food! Mr Chang showed awesome hospitality by telling us where we could visit and what was good to eat. Never met a more friendly host! If that was not enough, the owner Dr Teng (hope I got his surname right!) came by and his lovely wife bought us nonya kueh! We were such in luck as it tasted really good :) thanks for the wonderful experience Palm Mansion Team. We will be back for more!

職員都很友善、每天都會建議去哪些地方，拿著地圖教怎麼去。我們要去郵局寄明信片還就親自帶我們去，真的很窩心的啦。 民宿是包早餐的，味道不錯，有一天老闆夫婦還親看開車帶我們去海邊，請我們吃美味的肉骨茶，超nice 位置很方便，就在小印度旁邊，去夜市吃東西也是10分鐘以內... 早機6點半要checkout，天都未亮，已經準備好早餐給我們拿去路上吃，超感動。。 房間空間很大，有兩層，住4個人都沒問題。。 大推。。。很用心經營，下次來，還會再住

Location is great for visiting nearby street arts.

We stayed for 4 days & 3 nights in August 2016. It was so refreshing to be served with a welcome cold nutmeg drink and a tau sar pia snack upon check in. The double duplex room that we stayed was clean and air conditioning was good. Although we can hear some night time noises from the streets outside, it didn’t really affect our sleep. We especially loved the veranda located just outside our room which is full of greeneries and beautiful flowers. Very good for photo takings. Another plus point is the exceptional service provided by the Manager, Mr Chang and his staff. He provided us with lots of suggestions for places to eat and visit so that we were never bored in Penang. We have the privilege to meet the owner who explained to us some of the transformation and restoration processes. This vintage hotel was refurbished from old timbers and the craftsmanship that has gone into this restoration is highly admirable. We enjoyed the daily breakfast in the café located downstairs. The latte was especially good. Highly recommended to all who appreciate vintage culture.

A lovely, quaint boutique hotel

Stayed for 2 night with my parents. Check in was a breeze. Received a very warm welcome with drinks, snacks and an introduction to places to eat and sight-see in Georgetown as it was our first time there. Love the design of the place overall. Rooms was cozy and spacious for 3 of us. Owners were extremely friendly and even drove us out on 2 occasions. Location is great and within walking distance to a lot of sights and food. Definitely beats staying at a regular hotel.

搭夜車抵達檳城。只是想碰運氣，看看可否寄放行李？沒想到老闆好早起床，還好心地收容了我們。 熱心、質樸的老闆，整個環境布置得很雅致，讓旅人的心情也跟著寧靜而愉悅。

Great location, Exceptional service

Highly recommended! Exceptional service, great hospitality by Mr Chang and team. Hotel is centrally located, very convenient. Attractions are within walking distances from hotel. Staff team are friendly, helpful and knowledgeable. Exquisitely decorated, quaint hotel. Day of arrival, took the airport cab and the driver got lost and contacted the hotel. Mr Chang and team came out to the street to wait for us. Welcome drink & delish tidbits served upon arrival. We asked for local maps from Mr Chang as we didn't managed to pick them up from the airport. Maps provided upon request and Mr Chang patiently gave us information on local attractions and recommended places to visit and food to try. Breakfast was served at Street Art Cafe located next door. Nice ambience, great breakfast. Choose from menu, limited selection but much better than the standard breakfast buffet by other hotel chains (IMO). Their coffees and fried ice cream are great too! And the best thing, free WIFI! Met owners Mr & Mrs Ding on our last day. They are very friendly, extended great hospitality to show us around and my parents had a very pleasant morning chatting with them. Night flight back but we came back too early so waited at the lobby for our cab to pick us up. Mr Chang played host till the end and kept us entertained while we waited. Return cab arranged by Mr Chang on request, driver arrived on time and smooth ride to the airport.

Gem of a Heritage Hotel with a Big Heart.

We decided to book Palm Mansions due to the glowing review we read from Trip Advisor and the heritage boutique hotel, run efficiently by Mr Chang and his staff did not disappoint. Stepping down from the taxi into the hotel, we were received warmly by Mr Chang who offered us cups after cups of delicious chilled nutmeg drink (you can buy it from a shop a few doors down juts make sure you have check-in baggage! We didn't so had to buy ours from the airport which tasted different.) and delicious Tambun biscuits. He then orientated us to Penang, suggested places we can go to and patiently answered all our questions about food stalls we were looking for. When we were done chatting we were also checked-in and ready to move into our room for two nights. The staff who helped us with our luggage was full of smiles and really friendly, making us feel even more at home. Our simply-furnished duplex was just what we need. We hung out downstairs where my son slept on a single bed. Our bed was on the second loft level. As we were also celebrating my husband's birthday, Mr Chang graciously arranged for a cake which he sent personally to our room. A really nice gesture that pleasantly surprised my husband. We walked everywhere from the hotel, given it's ideal position in the heart of historic Georgetown. My son enjoyed every single minute of his stay and so did we! :)
