Bridge over Gayle Beck. This bridge carries the Dales Way over Gayle Beck. It replaces an earlier footbridge - a long narrow structure only negotiable to pedestrians. This substantial piece of carpentry needs to withstand the passage of heavy laden logging trucks, to allow access from the forest plantations on Cam Fell and Greenfield onto the B6255. In the process this excellent portion of the Dales Way has been ruined - will it ever be restored to its former glory once the trees have all been removed? The Pennine Bridleway has also been channelled this way.

My room was OK bathroom with walk in shower was very nice. The staff were excellent and the food was a delight. Never used the bar but looked very nice. Fantastic position right opposite the Rail station. Not much parking on property, but plenty close by.
