Positive: I loved the history of the property. The suite that we stayed in was very spacious for the 2 of us and it was nice to have a full kitchen even though we didn’t cook on it. The ice maker was nice to have but we realized we should have turned it off at night because it was noisy throughout the night. The bed was comfortable. The full English breakfast was outstanding. The staff were pleasant. Negative: the shower had very low pressure and the water temperature was hard to control, either really hot or really cold. The sink water faucet’s hot/cold water was backwards. The walls and ceiling were touched up with mismatched paint and made the room look sloppy. We could not get the tv (Roku) to work. The courtyard looked like someone went to a lot of trouble in the past to make it beautiful but no one has weeded it this year so it looked very neglected.

The George Manor is a beautiful 1851 historic home that is well-maintained. The staff are awesome…and the food is professionally prepared and delicious! We enjoyed touring this home and learning its history. It is in an excellent location that is central to most all that Galveston has to offer. It was our first visit to Galveston, and we loved our stay,😊. We highly recommend The George Manor to others….you won’t be disappointed! Chef Michael and his wife Rosie were just amazing. They treated us like family right from the beginning and made sure we always had everything we needed. The chef is an amazing chef and I would suggest trying dinner there at least once, we ate there twice. He and his wife made sure every need was met. Also, I believe his name was Robert, was amazing and provided so much information about the town and had great suggestions on activities in the area. They all went above and beyond and would definitely stay there again.

Owners and staff were very accommodating. Ensured we had everything to make our stay comfortable. Breakfast was outstanding! The area is walkable and the historic neighborhood was nice to explore, including The Strand. My husband and I stayed for two nights before our cruise on Royal Caribbean. We are thankful for our stay at The George Manor and will be referring this stay to our family and friends!

The George Manor is a gem tucked away in the Strand area of Galveston. We stayed one night in the Kaiserhof Suite & thoroughly enjoyed our stay. Christopher & Valerie welcomed us promptly upon our arrival. Very comfortable accommodations, save the regulator on the shower which made it too hot/cold. The English style breakfast was delicious & we enjoyed some after breakfast coffee outside on the porch in fantastic weather. Michael & Josie were so hospitable & gave us a tour after preparing breakfast. Look forward to returning sooner than later from Houston. Highly recommended!
