The only downsides are 1. food on resort is a bit of a miss (not enough simple, local dishes in favor of fancy over-the-top dishes ) although breakfast was lovely and 2 you have to have a car to get to Tropea as the resort is isolated and there is not much to do in terms of activities or entertainment.
