Blue Pool, Furzebrook, Dorset The Blue Pool, near Furzebrook is situated in the area known as the Isle of Purbeck in Dorset. The title 'Blue' comes about because there is in suspension in the water minute particles of clay which variously diffract the light giving colours from 'cloudy' grey through green to the superb blue. http://www.isleofpurbeck.com/bluepool.html

Furzebrook: Blue Pool Blue Pool is a remnant of a Purbeck clay pit which was in use from the 16th to 19th centuries and survives only because the prospectors couldn't be bothered to fill in what they left behind.
