Beautiful grounds, good breakfast, helpful front staff. Hotel location great, very close to a bunch of great restaurants and central, but still offers such a nice and peaceful get away from the hustle of the city . Would love to stay again.

Wonderful Stay

The staff at the hotel were so friendly, we were invited to a drinks reception for returning guests and we got to talk to many staff members. The breakfast was wonderful. We plan to Reto next year.

Fantastic service and staff

Very attentive staff and hotel is located centrally for everything you need. Beautiful gardens and pools with lovely secluded areas you can sit in the sun. Recommended and will be coming again!

Friendly approachable staff in a well kept environment. Beautiful pools and garden areas and shared facilities with Porto Mare hotel. Alfama breakfast restaurant buffet a bit bijou but can use Atlântida which is more open. Well situated for walking or regular buses into Funchal. Very relaxing and thoroughly enjoyed our stay,

Staff are amazing, facilities are great, with so many pools in the resort you can find space to chill and relax. Rooms are good, could do with a bit of updating. Food options are good too and there are loads of restaurants and bars close by.

Really enjoyed our stay here. Great facilities and right next to Funchal. Bedroom was extremely comfortable. Only thing that let it down is the food at the pool bar is rather poor - whilst all the food at the other restaurants and breakfast buffet is very nice.

Lovely hotel

Hotel was lovely usually stay at the Porta Mare but tried Eden Mar so we could use kitchenette on our 2 week stay. Just as good room was very big & you still use all facilities. Would recommend, clean & service & bar area excellent

Very nice hotel with helpfull friendly staff. Good facilities with the added bonus of being able to use the facilities of it's sister hotel next door. The grounds of the two hotel merged together and were beautifully kept. Nice location next to the ocean and a 40 minute walk into the centre of Funchal. Regular local buses into the centre of Funchal stop outside the hotel.

The hotel property is very big and there are a lot of things to do there. The hotel has 2 very nice outdoor pools, 2 indoor pools and 2 whirlpools. It also has a spa, but we were too late to book an appointment (they were already booked out), so i would recommend to book an appointment right at the beginning of your stay.

Great family hotel

Great hotel and facilities, it’s a shame that bars and restaurants onsite close too early. We enjoyed our stay here as a family and our room was amazing. The breakfast has a great selection but could do with better coffee choices. The restaurants onsite served up some amazing food and some of the theme nights the dinner is amazing. Carlos in the bar was amazing and very friendly, he always had a smile on his face and was great with our daughter. Will love to stay again.

Hotel Eden Mar is a gem among the many hotels of the new Funchal area. The many pools, grounds and general facility are kept in immaculate shape. The daily cleaning of our rooms and hotel was amazing. When we were tired of all the tourist activities on the island Eden Mar provided a quiet retreat where it was just fun to enjoy the swimming and grounds at the hotel. The choices for breakfast must have covered everything and there were always plenty of hot tasty food and plenty of smiles and good mornings from a very hard working staff throughout the hotel. Probably one of the best if not the best hotel we have stayed at during our many travels.
