Meine Begleitung wollte ihre portugiesischen Sprachkenntnisse anwenden, hat aber im Unterricht die brasilianische Aussprache gelernt, das kam nicht gut an, der Gastgeber meinte, es sei eine internationale Unterkunft, wir sollten Englisch sprechen, damit kamen wir weiter, aber dass das brasilianische Portugisisch abgelehnt wurde, war eine Haltung, die bei uns nicht so gut ankam. Schade! Es stellte sich heraus, dass der Gastgeber auch Deutsch spricht, aber erst sehr viel später - wir fühlten uns verarscht - Humor auf Kosten des Kunden oder Spionage? Der Balkon am Zimmer war super! 👍

First time in Funchal

Lovely little guesthouse, no frills but very good value for what you get. Nice breakfast bought to your table including sometimes home baked pastries. Beautiful view from the garden area of the sea.

Super hyggeligt hotel

Det er virkelig et hyggeligt hotel som bliver drevet af et ægtepar. Vores værelse var en fin størrelse med altan og der blev gjort rent hver dag. Der er ikke elevator, men er blot i 2 etager. Det ligger super fint i forhold til butikker og spisesteder. Vi havde bil og der er parkering lige udenfor hotellet dog mod betaling i en automat, men det er ikke dyrt. Morgenmaden er virkelig dejlig og der mangler bestemt ikke noget. Servicen er helt i top. Kan varmt anbefale dette hotel.

Min vecka i maj i Funchal

Ett litet mysigt hotell/pensionat med tio rum, frukostrum, varsin låda i kylskåp för ev. förvaring av egen mjölk. bröd m.m. Vissa rum egen balkong, övriga tillgång till terrass med sol morgon/ em. Hjälpsam flerspråkig personal. P-plats mot betalning på andra sidan gatan. 5-10 minuters promenad till centrum. Ingen hiss i huset när väskorna ska till rummen och ganska höga trappor i entre’n. Lite besviken att vi inte fick ett rum med havsutsikt.

BB centrale con la comodita' di essere in pochi minuti a piedi nella zona centrale di Funchal , c'e' un parcheggio facile di fronte, una splendida terrazza panoramica, una buona colazione e la cordialita' dei gestori con Agostino simpatico poliglotta e Caterina una brava cuoca. Da prendere in considerazione per un ritorno.

Pension très agréable

Accès facile par l'aérobus (arrêt 7 ou 8) et quelques minutes de marche. Localisation en centre ville, à environ 10 mn à pied de la cathédrale. Accueil chaleureux par le patron qui parle français. Chambre simple mais assez spacieuse avec des rangements suffisants et une grande salle de douche (l'eau chaude met un certain temps à arriver!). Matelas ferme, sans être trop dur. Pas de chauffage, ce qui peut manquer en janvier! Volets et rideaux occultants très appréciables pour ne pas être réveillé par le jour. La fenêtre des chambres du premier étage donne sur une petite terrasse avec vue sur l'océan, mais l'inconvénient est que l'intimité n'est pas préservée si on laisse les volets ouverts (choisir une chambre au 2ème avec balcon pour éviter cet inconvénient). L'environnement de la pension est plutôt calme, mais à l'intérieur, cela dépend des autres résidents, comme dans tout autre hôtel! Mention spéciale au petit déjeuner préparé par la patronne: œuf cuit à votre convenance, jambon, fromage, plusieurs pains frais, brioche, portions de confiture et de beurre, jus de fruit, fruit frais, lait, thé ou café (bon)... et en plus de tout ça une confiture et un gâteau tous deux faits maison et différents chaque jour. Top! Tout ce qu'il faut avant une journée active de visites ou de randonnée. Je conseille cette pension à tous ceux qui cherchent à être un peu à l'écart de l'agitation de l'hypercentre et déjeuner plus que copieusement, pour un prix tout à fait raisonnable.

Parking facing the hotel. Pay everday. free after 8pm and on the week-end. excellent situation if you walk. Not very quiet. Dogs barking, peoples talking loud. Breakfast ok. Not more. A little bit of smile by the owners,would be more appreciated!

Good base in Funchal to discover Madeira

Vila Teresinha offers all the basic conditions for whoever wants to explore the island. It's clean, the owners are helpful and hospitable and the breakfast was good (we especially liked the fact that every day we had a different desert and different fruit). Good balance between quality and price.

Reasonable hotel in Funchal

Very Good price for your reasonable stay in Funchal. Walking distance to the town and big supermarket. A room is clean and the view is excellent. You may Need to ask for an active dryer as it was out of order in my room, and be aware of hand laundry /wet clothes is not allowed in your room(you are only allowed to do at the terrace.) And noise/loud music from neighborhood is expected(it was once a while till midnight.)...

Accogliente e graziosa.

Struttura molto carina, personale accogliente e disponibile, appena fuori dal centro ma raggiungibile a piedi. Ottima la colazione non a buffet e bella la terrazza panoramica sull'oceano e i sui tetti del centro. Camera piccola la nostra, poco areata e senza affaccio, ma con un sovrapprezzo è possibile richiedere stanze migliori, panoramiche e con balconcino.

Cosy and Convenient

Perfectly situated place with a lovely host who prepared nice breakfasts. The place is quaint and has a nice balcony seating area as well. Really glad I chose this place rather than a room in a big (and more distant from Funchal center) hotel.

Would definitely return here!

Whether or not "budget-minded" (as I am), this facility is tops in its class and in a great "European" tradition. Host Augustino assures every comfort and need. His cooking and cleaning staff are meticulous and generous. Breakfasts as included are delicious and very complete! The outdoor balconies (available to all rooms) with views of the city and harbor are a big plus (including with tables, chairs, and power outlets!). Very quiet neighborhood with convenience grocery store nearby. Reasonable access to local transportation by foot (but do your homework on bus routes, first). (Not recommended for the physically-impaired or challenged.)
