We’ve stayed at the Three House Hotel several times now and each stay has consistently been great. The rooms are good sized and well laid out. Everything is clean and comfortable and the staff and management are very friendly and helpful. It’s a great location near the Old Town area where you feel like you’re a part of the Funchal experience in every good way!

Great find

Picked this hotel because of the central location and car parking. Only needed one night, but WOW. Beautifully presented with amazing rooftop pool and bar. Staff all helpful and knowledgeable. Didn't try the restaurant as it was closed on the night we were there. Car park tricky, but ok with a small car.

-The rooftop pool and bar were excellent. --The room was clean and spacious. -The gym on site was very large. -It was close walking distance to everything we wanted to get to including restaurants, and a grocery store.

The hotel it’s very unique and cute. The bar has the most delicious cocktails. I loved the decor and the rooms to be so spacious and with all the amenities! The staff super friendly and helpful! I absolutely recommend it and for sure will stay again in the future!

We had a great stay at Three House Hotel. The staff was very welcoming, the room was a perfect size for us and the location was great. Note that if you drive to the hotel do not take the 'fastest route' through the neighborhood as this will take you on very narrow roads with tight turns. Use the main road which the hotel is on.

Perfect location, close to the old city of Funchal, the marketplace and the cable car downhill station. If like to workout it's the right place to be as it gives free access to a big gym in the same building.

Absolutely perfect hotel. Staff were incredibly kind. The room was spotless when we arrived and spotless every day when we got back after house keeping. The bed was comfortable and huge with great pillows. The towels were big and white and fluffy. The bathroom was great. The tv had games on it. The kitchen had everything you could need with complimentary cold filtered water, fruit, croissants every morning and jam. They sent up a bottle of Prosecco as it was my birthday with a sweet note. The restaurant was an absolute highlight, genuinely the best steak I’ve ever had in my life. The pool was gorgeous and the bar was the place to be in the evening which was so handy to just go downstairs to bed. Actually could not fault it and would 100% stay here again!

A welcoming and helpful greeting at the reception. Rooftop sunbathing and pool was a lovely area to chill. The rooms were spacious and modern. Very close to all of the amenities in Funchal, including buses which run straight past the door. Large gym with plenty of equipment. The hotel is right in the heart of Funchal and so traffic noise and building work could be heard at times, but nothing to interfere with sleeping. Would recommend the hotel.

Everything was perfect. Staff payed very close attention to detail and made some superb suggestions on sites and activities. My one gripe and this is completely suggestive, was the pillows were a little less than ideal for me. Overall 10/10 stay.

Beautiful apartment in a wonderful location

Three House Hotel is in an excellent location for walking around Old Town, along the waterfront and to various restaurants, shopping and farmers market. Marcio, the manager, took me to the rooftop pool, bar and showed me their 360 deg view of Funchal. He showed me all the elevators and demonstrated how to use the various apparatus’ in the fully stocked kitchen. The apartment is very clean and comfortable. The staff are very hospitable. Every morning there’s a fresh croissant delivered to your door.

This relatively new hotel, situated in the center of Funchal's old town, really understands how to provide maximum comfort to guests! Our lodging is spacious, offers a beautiful view of the hills, and comes with helpful amenities such as complimentary pastries in the morning and self-service water refills. Our only minor complaint is noise from the streets, but the hotel does supply ear plugs! The entire staff is very friendly and accommodating. Last but not the least, the rooftop bar is worth a visit for its tasty cocktails.

Three House Hotel deserves more than five stars! Our room was an apartment rather than just a hotel room, and it was perfect. The rooftop pool, deck and bar was great with comfortable seating, a very nice casual yet elegant decor and an incredible view of Funchal and the waterfront. The staff that we interacted with were, to a one, professional, engaging, pleasant, energetic and attentive to our needs. The location, very close to the Old Town area suited us perfectly. We expected a pleasant stay, but our expectations were exceeded. We will return to Madeira again, because we love it, and we’ll stay here again for the same reason - we loved it!

The service at Three House was exceptional. From the reception, to the Bar and Restaurant staff, nothing was too much trouble. There were little extras like fresh pastries hung in string baskets on the door each morning, lovely bathrobes, car hire sorted out with nothing for me to do but make the payment i’m jump in the vehicle, brilliant restaurant recommendations. The room also was great, really spacious, lots of fancy appliances from Smeg, two huge TVs, comfortable throughout. I stayed a week and felt very much at home. The hotel has a really nice rooftop bar and small pool, but no inside bar or lounge area if the weather is not fine. Highly recommend this place.

We enjoyed the stay hotel was located in the town centre with plenty space, and conveniently located close to everything. Lovely staff special shout out to Sid, being so helpful. However, our room was facing street often get woke up by the traffic. They had Christmas party at roof top was sooo loud with none stop music at 3am. Dogs were allowed in the room and was barking at 1am. And some guest triggered fire alarm at mid night. I prob won’t come back to the same hotel again, we had no good rest.

Our recent stay at 3house was nothing short of curated excellence! I can't say enough about the apartment and how well thought out every detail was layered with taste and functionality. We had fresh croissants delivered to us at 7 am. Laundry was available (self help) but such a key asset after hikes and being rained on! The rooftop bar and pool were such an indulgence. But let me get to the heart of this place and that is the people who make this place home. Sid and Marcio provided timely and excellent recommendations, never rushing, always willing to answer questions with so much patience and humour! All their staff was friendly and went above and beyond to ensured our stay was memorable. Access to the gym was also a nice touch! We can't imagine staying anywhere else in Funchal and can't wait to be back! Thank you for a great stay! We miss it already!

Three House is one of the best places we have ever stayed in. It is definitely a home away from home. Every single detail has been well thought out. From fresh baked, warm goodies hanging on your door every morning to ice cream in the freezer, to cold filtered water at your disposal, to a fully stocked kitchen and laundry room. The rooftop was amazing with the views, the pool, the restaurant and the seating areas. Having the grocery store right across the street was super convenient and we could walk everywhere from Three House. The thing that made the stay the most special though was Miguel. He was incredibly helpful. He organized a rental car for us, taxi transfers to and from the airport and was always there with great advice including restaurants and a driving tour around the island. Can't recommend this hotel more!
