It is a solid residence which we are returning to for another 5 nights. There is space, a swimming pool, amd fine buffet dinners for 17 Euros pp. We did not encounter any cleanliness problems.

Location of the hotel was good. Staff was very nice and friendly. Pool area was clean. The only problem was that we got a room that did not look like the pictures at all. It’s clear that many rooms have been renovated (and hence the pictures). However our room was dark and gloomy. The kitchen was in a dark room that looked like a bathroom… we were disappointed…

Good quality accommodation at an excellent price. It’s not the Ritz but the room we had was comfortable and had a pleasant sea view. The breakfast was included and was very good. There are many restaurants nearby and it’s also on a main bus route with the centre of Funchal less than 10 minutes away. If you are looking for a comfortable budget stay on this wonderful island this could be for you.

Favorite hotel

We need a stay for relax and get it. It was calmly. We have been at Madeira many times, I think this was our 24 trip. We have stay at a lot of different hotel. This year it wasnt possible to reservate our favorite hotel. Now we get a new favorite at Florasol Recidense. Hope to be back next year

Read the fine print when booking this hotel! We booked thru Expedia. Found out our booking did not include a room with air conditioning, the safe did not include a lock (which makes no sense) and the breakfast was an extra charge. Our room did not have a ceiling fan, although the receptionist who checked us in insisted it did. We had to ask every day for a room fan and finally got it on our last day. Even with the patio door open, the room was very hot. Kitchen was adequate, but no towels (we had to use our bath towels)

There is no air conditioning anywhere in this building. The parking situation was very confusing. It is difficult to find the actual building as there is only a small name in glass above the door. Young woman at desk was very unhelpful, even stating that there were NO good restaurants in Funchal when we asked for a reservation. Breakfast was just mediocre. On the plus side, the room was huge, pool area very nice, and area was very quiet.
