"There was less than a quarter bag of toilet paper when we arrived . Everything felt damp. It’s obvious that owner tried to make everything clean but the property is just old. Check in process was less than desirable. If it weren’t because the owner just happed to drop in we wouldn’t know how to get in to the lobby. Check out was easy. We just had to drop the key in the basket."

Beautiful landscape, spacious rooms with their own private onsen and a great buffet restaurant with local produce and dishes of aboriginal cuisine. A great place if you want calm and tranquilty. It has a spa, a hot spring outside pool, great views and beatiful lawns were you can pass the time looking at the local flora and fauna"

Note that nothing, apart from soap, shampoo, bottled water, a fridge and a kettle, is provided - bring your own towels, cups etc (large paper towels provided if needed). The hosts are very friendly. Most importantly, the address on hotels.com is wrong or Google maps gets confused - search maps for 鄉村民宿, which is 2, Alley 4, Lane 23, Section 1, Wenquan Road, Ruisui Township, Hualien County, Taiwan 978, coordinates 23.506313,121.373059. It's a 20 minute walk to the town of Ruisui, or a few minutes' drive. "
