Great stay, but hotel could use a little TLC

The staff here was really great. We took a short trip for my husbands birthday, and they went above and beyond to make the stay special. The only downside of this hotel was that some common areas and the room wasn't in the best shape. Overall nice hotel, for a reasonable price. Would go stay again.

Das Fritz Lauterbad liegt oberhalb Freudenstadt im Wald und wir hatten ein Zimmer mit Waldblick. Besonders gut gefallen hat uns der Pool und der Außenbereich, sowie die große Terrasse und das Frühstück. Wir waren das zweite Mal hier und werden ganz sicher wiederkommen. Fünf Sterne *****

Im Hotelkomplex befindet sich ein hervorragender Wellness- und Entspannungsbereich mit 3 Saunen, Pool und ausreichend Ruhemöglichkeiten. Der Preis des Hotels ist etwas gehoben, allerdings wiegen das Ambiente? die Sauberkeit und das Personal sowie die Küche diesen Aufwand vollends wieder auf. Wir waren jetzt bereits 2 mal dort und werden wieder kommen!

Das Ambiente und die Einrichtung waren sehr einladend auch der Spa-Bereich war weitläufig und lud zum Entspannen ein. Vom Service im Restaurant waren wir enttäuscht, wir haben eine halbe Stunde auf die Rechnung gewartet und wurden immer wieder vertröstet. Auch das Frühstück haben wir uns umfangreicher vorgestellt zum Beispiel mehr frische Säfte statt aus dem Automaten und offenem Frischkäse statt lieblosen Verpackungen. Wir kommen gerne wieder, werden aber wahrscheinlich nicht mehr im Hotel essen.

Der Neubau verfügt über grosszügig dimensionierte Zimmer/Suiten in schlichtem, edlem Design mit meist hochwertigen Materialien (Ausnahme: kratzempfindliche schwarze Oberflächen der Möbel, die zudem perfekte Staubmagnete sind). Die Betten sind von guter Qualität und für ihre Härte/Straffheit überraschend bequem. Das zweite Schlafzimmer verfügte über kein Aussenfenster, die Frischluftzufuhr bei geschlossener Tür war unzureichend. Während drei Grossbild-TV pro Suite klar (viel) zuviel des Guten sind, fehlte es andernorts an Grundlegendem: Im separaten WC gab es keine Seife, in Bad/Dusche kein Duschmittel, sondern nur flüssige Handseife. Die Minibar war leer, der Snack- und Getränkeautomat im EG war gerade mal zu 10% befüllt. Unsere Suite war mit mehreren Thermostaten ausgestattet, die scheinbar einstellbaren waren, aber keinerlei Wirkung entfalteten. Mitte Oktober herrschte - ohne Sonneinstrahlung - in allen Räumen eine Temperatur von 24.5 Grad. Im Zimmer waren null schriftliche Gästeinformationen verfügbar, auf dem TV-Infokanal ebenso. Auf Rückfrage hiess es am Empfang, es sei online eine Gästeinfomappe herunterladbar. Der eine der zwei vorhandenen Lifte war die ganze Zeit unseres Aufenthalts defekt, der andere zeitweilig ebenfalls. Die Tiefgarage kostete 8 Euro pro Tag, obwohl der Aussenparkplatz wegen Bauarbeiten gesperrt und nicht benutzbar war. Die meisten parkten daher ihr Auto entlang der Zufahrtstrasse. Sehr schöne neue Zimmer. Die Lage ist es perfekt. Leider passt das gastronomische Konzept noch nicht zum Rest. Das Frühstück ist super aber abends ist die Auswahl seht gering und die Qualität der Speisen leider nicht überzeugend.
