This French farm house is beautiful. I felt like I was staying in someone's home. One of the hosts, Peter, gave wonderful background about the surrounding area and was very flexible about making breakfast early as needed. The breakfast was delightful with homemade yogurt and jams, local cheeses and meats as well as the classic French bread varieties and croissants. My room was big and lovely and the property lovely to look out on. The surrounding village is peaceful. The perfect place to unwind. Also near Falaise and the attraction of William the Conqueror's birthplace as well as the museum of the civilians and the occupation. The town is picturesque with lovely restaurants and a very small town comfort and charm. A few lines of French are helpful along the way, still the locals are so kind there was no problem with communication. The Normandy invasion sites are also very accessible and easily driveable within a day from the farm. I stayed there 3 nights after staying Paris (for 5) and it is the perfect place to end a trip. If I return to France and that region (which I hope to do as it is delightful), I will definitely stay at La Vieille Ferme. :)

This was our third overnight stay here. Peter is a fantastic chef and we had a wonderful evening meal and breakfast. If you need somewhere to stay near Caen port, this makes an excellent overnight stop.

Une étape parfaite, un accueil chaleureux

Il y a vraiment quelque chose de spécial à la Vieille Ferme. Restaurée avec goût par leurs jeunes propriétaires, l'attention portée aux détails est partout. De la chambre au petit salon mis à disposition avec boissons chaudes, de la salle à manger où nous avons dégusté non seulement un petit déjeuner délicieux mais aussi des dîners savoureux préparés par le propriétaire, ancien cuisinier, avec des produits de qualité. L'accueil et la gentillesse complètent le tout. Nos deux chiens (éduqués et contrôlés) ont reçu le même accueil. Le rapport qualité prix est exceptionnel. La Vieille ferme sera sans hésitation notre lieu d'étape lorsque nous repasserons dans la région. Bravo et merci aux propriétaires!

Rustic charm and great breakfast

This waz a really e joyable stay in a traditional French farm, now run as a small chambre d'ote by a British family. We lovex the quiet farming village location and the charm of the buildings. The host was very relaxed and helpful. We had the use of a communal guest lounge complete with tv and books and tea making facilities. Thefe was also a fridge for guests and a small mini bar of drinks at very reasonable orices. Room was spacious and warm and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely with fresh bread and lots of homemade goodies. I wish we had been tbere longer to join in witb with the farmhouse cooking lessons the host organises. If you want a change from the busy city and modern concrete business hotel this is an ideal place.

arrivés vers 16h30 par une dame très sympathique, elle nous montre la salle ou il y aura le diner et le petit déjeuner, ensuite notre chambre, grande chambre avec tout ce qu'il faut, une salle de bain très bien équipée, le wifi qui fonctionne à la perfection, un petit déjeuner copieux et le repas fais la veille au soir était très bon. c'est génial, je pense y retourner

a charming place!

This is a beautiful old house. The room was very sweet and nicely decorated, dinner and breakfast were yummy. And it's wonderful that we could eat the breakfast in the porch or outside with all the green surrounding us and the kids could run in the garden.

No complaints whatsover.basic accomodation but perfectly adequate.Peter and Sue were very obliging.Breakfast was excellent,other food was fine.Telly in the room would've been nice but u get what you pay for.

This was our second stay here and we will go again. The hosts and staff are lovely and welcoming. The breakfast was excellent and the evening meal was superb as before. A perfect stay close to Caen ferry port.

Comfortable, good value stay

We stayed here for 1 night in June 2019 while on our way to Bayeux from Limoges. We arrived at 9pm but were still greeted with a friendly smile from Su and they were happy to cook us a delicious omelette and salad each. The room was clean and well-appointed with a most comfortable bed. Breakfast was plentiful and tasty. Everything, including drink, was excellent value. There is a communal room with television. Slightly off the beaten track (20 mins from the motorway) but with good directions, this is a charming place to stay in the French countryside. Overall, definitely recommended.

Bien pensé pour les familles et excellent repas !

Propriétaires charmants qui font tout pour que le séjour dans cette résidence se passe au mieux. Le confort est simple mais tout est tres bien pensé, en particulier pour les enfants et familles. Dans le jardin, petits animaux, jeux pour tous petits et un trampoline. Le repas était la bonne surprise, le propriétaire est un ancien chef et nous nous sommes tous les 5 (j'inclue mes enfants de 4, 7 et 11 ans qui ont pris le demi menu adulte) vraiment régalés... N'hesitez pas, nous on y retournera.
