Couldn’t even tell if the property was open. On checkout it was closed. Sign posted stating they were out of compliance with fire alarm system.
Hallway - D
Dimly lit
Room - D
Clean, but the room had one picture, the window had no screen, there was a hole punched in the bathroom door, mould in the shower grouting. Screws in wall where lights once had been. No coffee mugs, although coffee maker and coffee were available. No microwave although stated to be there.
Overall - the place seemed next to deserted.
Recommendation - stay in Vanderhoof if you can.
It took several minutes before anyone even showed up to help me at check in and I rang the bell several times, and then he wasn't very friendly and never apologized for the delay. The place is old, run down, and needs some major maintenance and work. Blinds didn't work so we had to put the bedspreads over the windows. Light bulbs were missing, floors had been cleaned with something that left a sticky film, no hair dryer, the closet hanging bar was so high I couldn't reach it. The first thing you see at the check in desk is a warning that the building can't pass fire code because there are no smoke detectors so the staff walks the halls every 20 minutes to check for smoke. The only good thing was the full size refrigerator, which I needed, the towels and sheets were clean, and the TV worked.
