This was one of the most amazing stays on our trip to Scotland. The house is nestled by the Loch and has a gorgeous view. The house is hosted by the most wonderful family who gave great insights on history, things to do, and food around the area.
The breakfast is an amazing experience that they have curated for you to enjoy the homely feel of the stay.
We can’t say enough about our amazing stay. The family at Camus House are wonderful hosts. Our expectations were exceeded on all fronts. The house is stunning. The room was cozy, comfortable, and quiet.
Beautiful property, home and location. Amazing views of the Loch from our bedroom. Loved the basket of goodies every morning. The owners were so kind, accommodating and gracious.
Emily, Ellie & Mom and Dad were wonderful hosts! Very friendly, thoughtful and helpful! Their recommendations for meals were spot on! We even went back to one place twice! Room was cozy, shower & bed great and the rest of the house is clean, well cared for and inviting!
Amazingly beautiful area and house, welcoming and friendly owners and family, went out of their way to make our stay special, wish we could have stayed longer, if the location suits your needs book now ! You will be happy you did !
Really enjoyed our stay. We headed on to Skye after Camus House and really wished we had spent an extra day at Camus house instead. Beautiful property, great views. Additionally, Glencoe Valley is better than Skye. Hosts made great dinner recommendations. Just a really wonderful experience.
Our stay was amazing, the house, room and staff were great. I cannot recommend people to stay here enough. If you are lucky enough to have the lock view you will be amazed. The breakfast was sufficient for any daily activity and was delicious. You have to stay here
Wonderful place to stay. The owners are very kind, hospitable and knowledgeable about the area. The view of the loch is gorgeous and the glass-walled porch is wonderful to sit and read or watch the waves and seagulls. The amenities are high quality and the house is clean and cozy. I highly recommend this guest house! 10/10
Camus House was hands down our favorite part of our trip to Scotland and is a stay that shouldn’t be missed, in large part because of how wonderful Ellie, Emily, Jane, Gregory, and little Harley are as hosts. From the stunning bedroom view of a moonrise over the mountains across the loch to the lovingly prepared breakfasts to the warm fire waiting after a day exploring in the mists (and downpours), each minute of our stay felt truly magical. The location itself is convenient to Fort William, Glencoe, and Oban, and you have your pick of easy or challenging hikes and adventures. The beds are comfortable, the water hot, and the game closet is fully stocked. We loved chatting with the Camus House family the most, though. Will definitely be back to this special Guest House.
Staying at Camus House was an absolutely unforgettable experience. From the moment we arrived, we were welcomed like family. The hosts are truly some of the kindest, most genuine people we’ve ever met. They made us feel comfortable, cared for, and at home.
The house itself is beautiful, built in 1892 with great historic details, spotless, and full of charm. It’s rare to find a place that feels this personal and authentic.
If you’re looking for more than just a place to stay — if you want warmth, connection, and a truly special experience — this is the place. We left with full hearts and a deep sense of gratitude. We would return in a heartbeat.
We had a wonderful stay at Camus House. Our hosts were waiting for us when we arrived and welcomed us into the property and showed us our room, which was very comfortable and had an amazing view of the sea loch.
The property is recently refurbished and the new owners are both very friendly and keen to make sure everything is perfect for their guests.
Breakfast was a hamper with a variety of baked goods, granola, yoghurt, honey, jam, compote and juices. To save waste, guests are encouraged to take a doggy bag for their day. It was generous enough that we didn't need much in the way of lunch.
The area is very beautiful, without the commercial hustle and bustle of Fort William, but near enough to Ballachulish for EV charge points and supplies. The hotel across the road offers cooked breakfast and we had a good meal there one evening.
This hotel is an ideal base for the top section of the West Highland Way, if you have a car and want a bit of luxury.

Camus House was such a beautiful, welcoming, and cozy place to stay. We thoroughly enjoyed the couple of days we spent there this past month and will be returning for a longer stay in the future!
Amazing place. Glencoe is considered to be the most amazing stop in the Highlands. But if you stay in this hotel, you don’t need to go anywhere. The host with his extensive knowledge of this house and its history was fascinating. I’d love to go back time permitting
