Our recent stay at the Carrier house in Rutherfordton was absolutely wonderful. The property is beautiful inside and out – exterior is perfectly maintained with an adorable garden. That makes a charming first impression. Inside, the home is thoughtfully designed, blending historical character with tasteful modern amenities. Jim and Russell are exceptional host. They took the time to share the fascinating history of the house and even told us about the background of our individual room, which made our stay even more special. We spent two nights here and are still talking about how amazing the breakfast were – truly some of the best we’ve had at a B&B! Our room was spacious, the bed incredibly comfortable, and the overall atmosphere felt warm and Homie. This is easily one of the best bed-and-breakfast as we stayed at this year. We can’t wait to return!

Oasis in downtown Rutherfordton

It was a wonderful stay in historic downtown Rutherfordton, NC. We enjoyed our stay and breakfast every morning was an excellent adventure thanks to Jim and Russell.

Small town treasure!

Pre Civil War house near downtown . Several restaurants within walking distance. Lovingly cared for home with beautiful flowers. Outstanding breakfast ! Charming hosts who gave excellent advice on biking, dining, etc.

Russell and Jim are incredible! Their attention to detail is visible everywhere. Jim accommodated our vegan requests with great culinary skill. Our room was comfortable, and obviously extremely well maintained. We look forward to returning, as we felt as though we were visiting with family. We were there to enjoy the Earl Scruggs Music Festival and were delighted to see the lights on when we arrived home some nights after midnight!

The Carrier House is everything I could have wished for in a bed and breakfast: starting with a warm welcome from our 2 host and owners, followed be the enchanting landscaping as well as a charming 19th Century Inn. We had an amazing stay at the Carrier House. It was our daughter's first experience at a B&B, and we could not have been more pleased. The hosts were very friendly and welcoming. The house has a wonderful history that was fascinating to learn. The highlight of our stay was the breakfast. The food was excellent and served in a first class way. We'll definitely be back if we are ever up that way again!

Jim, Russell, Watson and Ranger were incredible. Jim and Russell were incredible hospitable and were very detailed in describing the home and it's history. Breakfast, simply put, was amazing. We had such a grand experience that we are returning in Dec 2021 with our parents. If you have the opportunity to stay in this wonderful home, managed by these incredible people, do yourself a favor and reserve a room.

Our sray at this B and B was one of the very best experiences in all our travels! Jim and Russel are hosts extrodinaire. The homes are lovely, very clean, comfortable, and feel like home.
