Staff is wonderful and kind, very accommodating. We stayed here with a lot of family members for our wedding, we got a beautiful spacious suite with the best courtyard views. The rooms are so beautifully designed, the whole villa is just dreamy and true Tuscany. Breakfast is amazing with so many options and so fresh, so delicious! Service is great too. Overall cannot beat the location. We also held our wedding reception dinner here and the food and service and spaces we used were amazing. They even gave us complimentary bottle of champagne and homemade cookies in our room with a lovely note. Overall, we hope to be back!

It is such a beautiful property and our apartment was clean and comfortable. Ate at the lovely restaurant one nigh and had take out the second. The breakfast was fantastic, so delicious with many options. The staff were so friendly and helpful.

Lovely Villa. Very spacious rooms. Close to Firenze. Chill location. Lots of in house facilities. Friendly and helpful staff. Some finer details: Ironing board available on request, not in room already. Sink was blocked but was fixed when reported Would definitely recommend and return.

Hotel Tolomei was truly worth all its 5 stars! Our room was stunning and spotless, the breakfast was abundant, and the restaurant served excellent food. The entire staff was absolutely wonderful. Our wedding anniversary was made extra special with champagne and a cake prepared just for us. We stayed for six days, surrounded by breathtaking scenery with vineyards and olive trees all around. We even saw deer and pheasants nearby. The resort is located on a hill about 4 km from the town center — good walking shoes are recommended if you plan to go by foot. Our experience was a perfect 5/5, and we will definitely return!

Peaceful retreat

We stayed in the apartment. Which is a short walk from the main building, between the olive grove and vineyard. It was so peaceful. We opened the window in the morning to watch deer grazing, and sneaking into the vineyard. The breakfast buffet has a great selection. With no car, a taxi into Florence is about 25e. Taking the bus is a great option but it doesn't run on Sunday. The Villa has the nicest bathrobes you'll find. Service is outstanding.

The staff at this hotel were excellent, friendly, professional and very helpful. The location is beautiful. Parking is easy and convenient. The breakfast buffet was very good. The buildings are traditional and charming but the interior decor is over fussy, tired and needs sorting out. We sometimes wondered what the interior design was trying to be, there wasn’t a coherent theme.

Great location and breakfast. Rooms need some renovations but what was really an issue is that the gym, pool and shuttle advertised as amenities all were closed or not available. Also the internet after several stays at the villa has never worked. 3 star hotel rating at best.

Super location with views over the beautiful city of Florence! Super staff, Daniel you were a legend! Dinner was astonishing, fabulous food and service! You can walk to the city centre, downhill and flat, 20 minutes or so, definitely a taxi back, circa 12 Euro!

Incredible off-season stay. The breakfast each morning was incredible. So much better than any other hotel I’ve stayed at. Fresh and delicious. The staff were friendly and helpful and our room was amazing. The Villa itself is a renovated Renaissance property and all around are little reminders of its glorious past. We were too early for the pool (starts in June) but I have a feeling that’s why we got such a great deal. The views from the decks are incredible and it’s close to Florence. The roads are windy and narrow, so be careful! But one of the roads down from the Villa revealed a spectacular view of Florence. I can’t recommend this hotel enough. Would gladly return.

Good overall

Lovely hotel - quiet and peaceful, with a great pool. We walked to and From Florence city center each day - 30-35 minutes each way. Some of the staff were quite surly/ aggressive/ rude, but most we just lovely and really helpful.

Can’t say enough about the kindness and helpfulness from the staff there. The property is on top of a large hill and isolated from the downtown area. It’s not walking distance to the main attractions and plan on a taking a taxi if you do not have a rental car. But it’s not an expensive ride, and worth it for the great customer service and relaxing atmosphere at this beautiful hotel. The free breakfast is terrific, they have a fitness center with weights and cardio machines, and the restaurant’s dinner is definitely fine dining. The view from the pool is absolutely beautiful too.
