The pictures are misleading. We never saw that small cottage and we never saw that large dining room. Perhaps because there really wasn't much service. Everything was left up to the guests, including washing your own dishes and putting them away with the same towel that everyone else used.
The rooms were too small, we could barely fit our suitcases. The location was quiet, but far from the nearest town and inconvenient if you need anything (like food). It's in an isolated area that is very difficult to get to. This wouldn't be so bad if the night stay was about $100 Euro, but it was over $200 Euro!... It felt like a classic example of price gouging.
I think it’s important to reiterate that this is a hostel, not a hotel. It’s simpler, more rustic. Suited to casual, affordable, more intimate lodging.
Not for those who feel awkward sharing space with strangers.
However, the rooms are comfortable, the staff are friendly and knowledgeable, and the scenery is about beautiful.
There is onsite laundry, and the optional breakfast service is delightful.
My biggest gripe is that the wifi did not reach my room (2) so, I had to stay in the dining room to use my computer.

A good functional hostel for our journey around the Westfjords
The hostel is decent, nothing above ordinary (other then the super nice host and assistant Emily), but the LOCATION LOCATION LOCATION.. is mind blowing. Many guests who stay there for one night end up canceling their plans and staying for 2 nights so you might as well book 2. They get completely full.
