"We were very disappointed. This inn used to be so lovely and the owners were very nice. Unfortunately, it is no longer a nice place to stay. I really hate to rate it so low, because it's someone's business and livelihood, but it just wasn't up to par.
We had trouble checking in, trying to call the number posted on the door, and after several tries, turned to leave, when the attendant finally showed up commenting that he saw us on the video surveillance screen. Why didn't he answer the phone?
The outside of the inn looked a little run down, so we asked to see the room. It didn't improve our thoughts about staying there. We decided we'd pay for the room, but look for another place to stay. We honestly didn't want to hurt his feelings.
The attendant was friendly enough, but when we were paying for the room, he received a cell phone call and immediately started speaking to the person who called. When you're in business, your first priority is your customers. We felt like we weren't important enough for his attention."
"We always book in to the Leisure Inn when travelling to the Temiskaming Shores area. They changed ownership recently, and the new management is absolutely excellent. We weren't disappointed at our last stay. As always the rooms, entry and main lobby and eating area, are clean, welcoming, and a pleasure to spend time in.
The owner is such a nice and engaging person, we had wonderful talks together.
Also, I guess because we were tired from our long day, we had difficulty figuring out how to use the TV remotes so asked for assistance. When he came to our room, he took his shoes off BEFORE, coming into the room. That speaks to his commitment to cleanliness - and - his respect for his lodgers.
We will certainly be returning to the Leisure Inn."
"The location is amazing and a great view of Lake Temiskaming. I got to swim at the beach in early June and the water was perfect, since it is seperate from Lake Temiskaming, otherwise would have been too cold. It was a highlight to be able to swim at the beach right by the hotel.
The staff is really friendly and they make an enjoyable free breakfast for the guests."
