Fabulous experience and highlight of our 3 weeks in Europe. Beautiful castle, fabulous dinner and breakfast and the experience was lovely and regal with our maître D. The grounds and historic site added to the weekend. Played tennis and will have to come back to enjoy the pool and hot tub when it is not raining. They are renovating some as well, but this is a well preserved piece of history while still have the charm you would expect from a castle. Better than all the modernized chateau’s.

This place is amazing. If you are looking for something unique with over 500 years of history then this is the place. The dining rooms are covered in pictures from the poems of Jean de la Fontaine, because why not. The staff are also really friendly.

A very beautiful location, but the buildings needs maintenance. Except a few language skills were limited and seems to be understaffed. When they had the time the people were nice.

Château de Fère is set in an extraordinary location, and the setting alone makes it well worth a stop. The historic château and its grounds have a real sense of grandeur that is difficult to find elsewhere. The hotel itself is a little tired in places, but everything is perfectly functional. In many ways, that adds to its character and authenticity, rather than feeling like another polished but generic five star chain hotel. The staff were warm, welcoming, and genuinely friendly throughout our stay. Overall, we had a lovely stay and would happily return.
