Umådelig dårlig service af Hotel.com

Hotelet var lukket, gået falidt, meget dårlig service at man ikke meddeler gæster som har købt og betalt et ophold, at dette er sket, så man havde mulighed for at booke et andet hotel. Det er ikke rart at komme til en lukket dør sent på dagen.

Un cauchemar !!! Les toilettes communiqué avec la chambre odeur etc + problème de plomberie fuite aucune télé ne fonctionne (problème de câble selon le gérant ). Une seule borne wifi donc pas d'Internet. Hôtel sombre pas de lumière ,de la poussière partout. Nous avons trouvé un autre hôtel. Donc nous avons payé sans dormir dans l'hôtel. hôtel à éviter!!!!!

Goede prijs/kwaliteit, prima voor kort verblijf

Hotel is traditioneel, mooi en authentiek. Personeel is vriendelijk. De douche mag wel een opknapbeurt gebruiken, maar de kamers en bedden liggen zijn erg goed en uiteraard schoon. Het is ontbijt is helaas zeer mager en betreft niets meer als koffie/thee/jus d'orange, stokbrood, smeerkaas en een hardgekookt eitje. Je kan op een 15min. lopen (aan de corniche/strand) een prima ontbijt scoren bij één van de cafe's. Kijkend naar de prijs-kwaliteitverhouding valt er niets te klagen.

Nice hotel for a long stay

It's quite far from the medina to stay here just for a few days. Otherwise it's good place in Essaouira... for those who are not about "Point break" movie.

Marokkanischer Stil am Stadtrand

Das Hotel liegt am Stadtrand, das Leben ist in der Medina. Auch der Strand ist 10 Minuten entfernt. Also weder Strand- noch Medinahotel. Vor dem Hotel ist eine Straße, dahinter eine Gasse. Ab 8.00 Uhr wird es lebhaft. Das Hotel selbst ist sehr zu empfehlen, die Lage aber nur für Surfer sehr gut, weil die Surfschulen auch am südlichen Stadtrand liegen.

Les photos ne correspondent pas a la realite. Cet hotel devait etre beau il ya 5 ans maintenant il est terne, usé, défraichi et sans entretien. Dommage le personnel fait son maximum pour minimiser les desagrements quotidiens.

We had a great stay at the Orson Welles. The hotel is really beautifully decorated in a traditional Moroccan style. The bathroom was especially unusual.

Moroccan feel and hospitality

Took my wife to Essaouira to celebrate her birthday. Well received by multi lingual family owner, Aziz. Entrance a bit dull, but rooms brighter and well maintained. Firm comfortable beds and running hot/cold water. Genuine, traditional style and feel. Not much choice but good breakfast, served with Moroccon tea. Quite pleased with the hospitality shown by Aziz and staff, dispute the cross lingual challenge. Good basic accommodation and value for money.

Des notre arrivée on nous a installé dans une chambre ou la tv ne fonctionnait pas. On a attendu 2 jours avant de l avoir, de plus la place de parking n est pas gratuite comme indiqué mais de 10 dr par jours nous avons voulue laver notre linge , et surprise aussi c est payant contrairement a ce qui est indiqué. Pour ce qui est de l hygiène il n y a rien a redire . Nous avions réservé l hotel pour 10 jous mais nous l avons quitté au bout de 8 jours.

Fantastic getaway

Absolutely loved this hotel. It has this Maroccan touch in the design, absolutely perfect for those who love the life of Maroccans or curious to explore something different than the usual hotel. Its not far at all from the beach, max three minute walk, its also close to both bus stations, the one with walking distance and the other with a short taxi drive. Maximun ten minute walk along the beach to get to all the restaurants and ancient Medina. The staff was very helpful, they even let us change room without any extra charge. Breakfast was simple but good with the lovely maroccan mint chai served. The room didn't have any air conditioner, but that wasn't any problem at all, since Essaouira is colder than any other city in Marocco. Attentive staff for every need and they serve you with a sincere smile.

Decent hotel, however the room was really dark, poorly lit. Everything else was very average. The service was good however. It was inexpensive so can't complain too much.

Booked this hotel for 9 days of kite surfing. The walking distance was perfect. The breakfast was good and always good service. Will recommend this place for my friends.

Personnel sympathique mais...

La literie est confortable, le petit dèj plutôt bon une fois que le personnel a compris que nous préférions les pains marocains aux viennoiseries industrielles, emplacement correct (25min de marche de la médina, 10min de la plage) mais chambres donnant sur le boulevard très bruyantes (simple vitrage). Le personnel était très serviable et coopératif, nous ont laissé choisir notre chambre et nous ont aidé à planifier des activités (hammam, excursion) mais à des tarifs un peu surgonflés hélas. Le gros problème fut la salle de bain : 3 fuites d'eau nous ont contraintes à dormir avec des boules Quies, l'une d'elle ayant créé une grande flaque au sol. Il s'est écoulé 4 jours avant que la plus grosse fuite ne soit réparée. Beaucoup d'humidité dans la chambre car la salle de bain n'est pas une pièce totalement séparée hélas. Bref, une expérience très moyenne un peu compensée par la gentillesse du personnel.

Lovely Hotel close to the Medina and Beach

Situated in a quiet part of town. Comfortable rooms with Moroccan decor. Friendly staff and nice breakfast. 10-15 minute walk to the Medina along the beach front. Although there was no restaurant at the hotel, there are plenty to choose from in and on the way to the Medina. 2.5 hour drive from Marrakech Airport with an excellent cab service which the hotel arrange for you.

you get what you pay for

After our stay at the Hotel Orson Welles we're not quite sure what our final verdict is. We were looking for a cheap hotel near the beach, and I guess that is exactly what we got. The room looks a little dated and there's not much space to store stuff, but what bothered us the most is that the bathroom is not in a separate room, but just behind a wall inside the room. To sum it we need to say that our stay at the hotel was okay, but we're not sure if we would recommend it someone else.
