The location was good for us visiting Epsom races. The bed was comfy and the room was spacious. Although it was a bit shabby, the carpets and furniture were in need of of a good clean, they were very stained and off putting. The cups were dirty and had to be washed before using. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The cost of staying was reasonable and would probably stay again for the one night if going to the races again.

The hotel staff were very pleasant and helpful. If it wasnt for them, it would be less rated. Firstly breakfast as a grab and go or left to have in your room is not my idea of breakfast. The towels were never changed in three days or bins emptied from the breakfast things. Good position for the epsom races but otherwise .....

Pleasant staff but rooms need updating
I stayed here with my 3 children for a couple of nights whilst visiting chessington world of adventures. Staff where friendly and helpfull. Rooms could do with a repaint, mould around windows and in bathroom but was ok for somewhere just to sleep. Had to order breakfast on arrival for the next couple of days order form was confusing and breakfast wasnt what we expected just a bag of shop brought packed bakery items and cereal options but werent given any milk. Was not worth paying the extra. Visited the adjoining queen adelaide pub for dinner food was good and reasonably priced. Ordered online to table and signed up for newsletter which gave me a £5 off coupon.

Reception staff were five star
The staff at reception were excellent and very attentive. The room was clean and well maintained. The only downside was the bar right next to it which stayed noisy till about 12:30am due to its outdoor seating. Great value for money though and would definitely use again

Brilliant staff
Room was very spacious and clean. Bathroom not upto the same standard but ok. Breakfast was much bigger than I was expecting. What I must say though is the staff Sumit (manager) and Canberk. Exceptional and above and expectations. Absolutely brilliant in helping us out when our taxi was a no show.

A comfortable and convenient overnight stay!
We had a nice overnight stay at this hotel. It’s a standard hotel with decent sized rooms. Room came equipped with hair dryer, towels and teas/coffees. Check in was quick, parking was plentiful and staff are polite & helpful! There’s also a pub restaurant on the doorstep. Super convenient! If you want a comfortable overnight stay at a decent price, I’d highly recommend!

Fine for one night, definitely not luxury by any means, but a decent bed and shower. Service was friendly and breakfast is a grab bag although they had no hot drinks

Spotless linen and room as clean as it could be given the run down state of the property. Reasonable pillows but uncomfortable saggy bed. Noise transfer from other rooms. Overpriced. Bathroom in a shocking state - clean but desperate for refurbishment.

Orchid Hotel Ewell
When we arrived, tired and hungry at about 7pm. The manager Sumit Chadha was delightful. He bought our VERY heavy suitcase’s to our room. We stayed for two nights, as we were moving house and had to do this as part of our plans. Sumit told us, to treat him like a son and to ask him for any help that we needed. He told us that they had taken over the hotel about one year ago. The bed was extremely comfortable. The decor was white walls with purple curtains and artwork on the walls. I believe that Continental breakfast was good value. For anyone who wants a cooked breakfast there is the restaurant/pub on the site. (No cooking facilities in hotel). Ample parking on site. The only slightly negative remark that I could make is that the bathroom suit looked a little tired. But hopefully that is a work in progress, as they have only been the new owners for a year.

Shame things went wrong
Unfortunately if it was going to go wrong it did, things were broken and noise from a resident and a door being ooened caused us issues but the manager did bend over backwsrds to fix it. Kins, aplogetic and tried his hardest to fix it but as i said it was just one thing after another. Shame as it could have been great. Pub next door fid a great meal

I booked three nights for work but need to change to 1 night due to bereavement. Called ahead of cancellation time to confirm and was informed to cancel via the app. and the hotel would sort it out on arrival. No manager on shift during my whole stay, just friendly yet inexperienced and unauthorised staff talking to a manager on the phone. Palmed off with no real explanation. My refund was not arranged as promised and given the manager's card to email him! Have received no communication, as should be expected in such a complaint. Advised by staff to book directly in future and not through any app.! The bathroom had not been cleaned sufficiently, with unmentionables left in there, unhygienic. Only decaffeinated coffee in the room. Large bolt on front door slammed into my hand, causing large bruising. Effectively, I paid £126 for one night of this far-below standard accomodation. Extremely disappointed with the service of having no management on site to talk to, very unprofessional. Would certainly not stay again nor recommend.

Dear guest, Whilst I am disappointed to read of your experience and concerns regards to your stay with us, I feel that the review you have left is somewhat unfair given the extent that myself and my team went to try to support you in making an amendment to your stay. Up-on first contact with us, you informed my receptionist that you wished to reduce your stay with us due to a family emergency - I advised that due to your booking being an online booking, this would need to be done in this way (this is standard procedure in the majority of hotels, we cannot make the same changes that you can - this is to protect your bookings and ensure that only you can change them), at this time you would have been able to reduce your stay right down to one night if you had wished to. Unfortunately, after being given this information you chose not to make this change and instead wait until the time of check-in at the hotel - as you correctly stated, this was after management had gone home for the day. At this point, my team phoned me and once again, I assisted with explaining how to reduce your stay down. Due to the time you waited to reduce your stay, this was only eligible for a one night stay reduction and this is in line with our booking policies, agreed to up-on when making a booking for a room. The additional complaints raised in this review were not raised to me, this is the first time that I am hearing of them but will of course investigate and ensure that any necessary action is taken by appropriate departments and retraining is given as and where necessary. I got locked in the room for 15 minutes apparently I had turned the key the wrong way no one told me this in check in and logically you turn the key away from the door frame however you have to turn the key into the door frame. I rang reception about 6 times from my mobile when I eventually got through he came and let me out. However I would have been a bit crispy if it had been a fire. I never complain but that needs sorting as it is a fire risk.

Disappointing hotel but brilliant staff.
One room had no key. The other was too hot and thermostat not working. Fan in room didnt work but very helpful man at reception (arron) did everything possible to help us and was excellent. He found us two working fans. I had booked what i thought was a cooked breakfast only to find it was just a bag with muffin apple drink and cereal bar. Very disappointing. Pub right next door did good good at a good price.

Cheap no frills base for 2 nights
Trip To see family. Despite issues with pre payment rest was fine. Made for a simple base to explore if you just want a clean no frills room

Pleasantly surprised with our stay
I’m not one to usually leave reviews but after seeing some negative online about the hotel, I thought I would post my own experience. When I first read other reviews I started to worry. But I had nothing to worry about! There was plenty of free parking at the hotel. Check in was swift and easy. Our room was very clean, nothing to fault on the cleanliness. Tv worked fine had loads of freeview channels. Bathroom was nice and clean, with towels provided. The shower was nice and powerful! The room was very spacious. We were worried that being near to the pub it may have been noisy, but it wasn’t at all, it was a nice quiet area and felt very safe. The only downside was the room didn’t have aircon, however we didn’t ask reception for a fan, which may have provided! The windows had safety features so that we could leave it open without worrying. I would definitely return again!
