"Excellent location Everything was close within 3-5 minutes walk. Staff was very friendly and helpful. They even changed the room for us since it was very hot for one night. Note that only one room has AC! Though it cools off in the evenings in Guanajuato, some rooms are stuffy. It is a difficult property to navigate with lots of steps and hallways in different directions, so you can get lost, but that’s also the charm of the building. Just something to be aware of. The Terrace sit outs are lovely and we enjoyed that a lot. The two suggestions I will provide are to install AC units. Since many rooms are locked into the interior, it gets quite warm and there’s not enough air circulation in spite of the floor fans. The hotel also provides only one key, which is inconvenient - I was locked out when my husband was showering for example. It would be good if they made the sorts with digital locks and key cards."

"Real Plaza is a very good hotel located very close to downtown historic centre. I would rated with 5 stars, but the room had a bad odor from the drainage in the bathroom. We had to cover it with a plastic bag. By my experience as an Architect it could be due to a lack of a vent, or ineficient vent location. The second issue was the noise level. At night there are many teens outside doing races with cars or motobikes. Since the windows are not noiseproof, we just had hard time to fall asleep. Otherwise, it is very good. Customer Service is excellent. The restaurant is very good, the gym is also in very good condition. The elevators work perfectly. I would highly recommend it if you plan to stay for several days. One more thing that could also improve is to have a small fridge and a microwave."

"The hacienda style is very unique and nice. Bedrooms need better maintenance. Carpets need deep cleaning. More water should be provided to rooms given that it Mexico you cannot drink tap water safely."
