Very nice, quiet place to stay with comfortable rooms. Good breakfast and also dinner. They will do laundry for you if it’s not too late in the day

Great place, perfect location for our plans. The breakfast was great and the hotel restaurant was great as well. No other food choices nearby. We planned to hike Studlagil canyon early, and this hotel allowed us to do that. We ate at the hotel at 7:30, were at the Canyon by 8AM and we had the hike in and about 30 minutes while we were the only ones there except one other couple who left as we arrived. On the hike out we passed hundreds of people on their way in. We had enough time left in the day to visit the Puffin colony in Borgurfjorder eysrti, visit Seydisurfjorder, and drive to Fáskrúðsfjörður

This hotel was very convenient as we were visiting the Studlagil canyon. It is super close from this location and the hotel is located in the same road #1. It is well maintained, rooms are in excellent condition, clean, neat. Staff is super friendly and cool. Restaurant is excellent. We had an evening dinner and it was delicious. Good breakfast.

We stopped here for a night stay. I do agree it looks better on the inside than the outside! The front desk staff were really sweet and provided us with advice on seeing the northern lights! This was day 5 of 10 on Iceland ring road. That night we were able to see the northern lights it was amazing! The room was cozy, very clean and had everything you needed for a good nights sleep. The beds very comfortable and plenty of space in the room. Breakfast is not included, about $18 USD per person. There aren’t a lot of options near the hotel to eat so we decided to eat breakfast there. The pancakes were delicious and it also included typical Icelandic breakfast. I would definitely stay here again!

Good hotel, friendly people and strategic position

Great experience. The position of this new managed - family owned hotel is strategic for Studlagil (the basalt canyon) and on the way that goes from Egilsstadir to the Hverir Geothermal Area/Namafjall Hike and the Northwestern area of Iceland. The position is very quiet, ideal to see the northern lights without the light pollution of the cities. We were so lucky to see an Arctic Fox few minutes before arriving at the hotel. The hotel was formerly a local school. It’s great to see this kind of reconversion into an hotel while breathing local history. The rooms are recently renovated, clean and essentials. We had the chance to have a great dinner at the hotel (chicken wraps and fries). Very good and not expensive considering the Icelandic prices! The breakfast is self service as well as the check in procedure. By our side the people of the staff is the added value of this hotel. They are very friendly and helpful. We absolutely suggest this hotel!

Wir hatten ein Familienzimmer. Dies war nicht im Hauptgebäude, sondern einem Nebengebäude. Die anderen Zimmer dort waren nicht belegt. Es war leider total unterkühlt (bei 0C Außentemperatur) und es gab nur kleine Heizelemente. Das Bad war wirklich nur sehr einfach und das warme Wasser nach der zweiten Person erst einmal weg. Gegen 23h hatten wir auch noch einen Stromausfall. Insgesamt eine sehr einfache Unterkunft. Frühstück war gut mit Müsli, Brot und Obst. Diverse Getränke.

Neue Zimmer , Unterkunft direkt an der Ringstraße nicht weit zum Studlagil. Man kann dort gut essen (Burger, Sandwiches) ansonsten ist abe rnichts in der nahen Umgebung.

Very friendly staff, quiet location and close to Studlagil canyon. Dining option is limited but the restaurant at the hotel is good. Breakfast is served included, a big plus since food is expensive in Iceland. Definitely Will stay again in the future.
