"Schull is a gem. Loads to do locally with lots of walks/hikes to explore and enjoy, which is why my wife and I were there. There is an abundance of water sports/activities available and the ferry to the islands. Each of the local towns have a trail head, where a number of looped walks start, and there are also walks to the next town where you can get lunch etc before returning to the start.
The hotel is directly across the road from the trailhead and a large car park.
The food in the hotel excellent, the staff are friendly and helpful, the rooms are spacious, well maintained and recently refurbished. The rooms at the front have spectacular views of the harbour and islands. It is a short drive to neighbouring towns/villages and to the Mizen.
It might be a bit of a drive to get there, but I used this as an opportunity to stop along the way and (re)discover this part of west Cork; it did not disappoint, with loads more to discover when I return to the area."
"Almost new property, very nice room, very friendly and helpful staff, elaborate sumptuous continental breakfast available at extra cost, onsite parking, fast internet.
Value for money property."
"Elegant old hotel, high level of service. Breakfasts were wonderful with lots of options. We were on the first floor so view was good but I’m sure upper floors have amazing views.
We had a noise issue, with an old radiator that needed to be bled on occasion or it made a loud jackhammer sound in the wall of our room. Happened twice, once early in the morning. Staff took care of it promptly but it was annoying. But it is a very old place."
"Warm welcome to a tremendous hotel. Restaurant, pub, room, staff, all perfect.
Would highly recommend the hotel and the island to anyone.

"Klondyke House was a perfect location midway around the Ring of Kerry and Skellig Circle. Convenient parking and a clean and comfortable room with a view of the Sea.
A hearty breakfast was individually prepared and was a delicious way to start the day! Close drive to restaurants in Waterville."
"Loved staying here - didn't want to leave. Lots of things to do, delicious food at breakfast and dinners. Really enjoyed the nature walks with the guide. The setting is beautiful and we left feeling rejuvenated. The staff was very accomodating and despite a full house, transferred us to a room with elevator access that my husband needed."
"I loved my stay at Quinlan & Cooke. The property is beautifully maintained, with elegant rooms and a welcoming, relaxed vibe. Service was friendly and personal, making the experience feel special. Every detail was perfect."
